I love this song, Wolfang is Eddie's son and he is also a guitarist and continues with his father's masterpieces after his death, Eddie van Halen was one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time and created "Eruption" the solo of most impressive guitar you can ever hear❤

He’s was majorly into martial arts and was a 3rd black belt. Also used real swords on stage and I think one concert he cut himself. He was super athletic and flexible. Hot as hell too!

I remember my Mom watching this with me on MTV (yep, I'm old). She laughed so hard because it is so campy. They were entertainers. They might have been the only happy metal band out there

The drummer (Alex Van Halen) is Eddie's older brother. David Lee Roth(the lead vocalist) actually came up with the name Van Halen. If you havent reacted to Eddie Van Halen Eruption guitar solo. Definately a must watch Van Halen was a fun band

Eddie Van Halen was listed as the keyboardist, but he also played guitar for the band. He wrote many of the songs for the group, and is highly recognized for being a great guitarist. The Van Halen brothers founded the group. Sammy Haggar also listed, became the lead singer after David Lee Roth left the group.

The original Van Halen group was David Lee Roth (lead singer), Eddie Van Halen RIP ( Greatest guitarist of all time), Michael Anthony (Bass Guitar) and Alex Van Halen (drummer extraordinaire). Alex and Eddie were brothers, I say were as Eddie has since passed on. Wolfgang Van Halen is Eddie's son and took over the Bass Guitar duties after Michael Anthony left the band. Sammy Hagar and Gary Charone were successive lead singers after David left the band.

This song and the others were composed with Ed playing all the instruments in the demos . Once he and Donn Landee finished the demo tape , he played it for the rest of the band . The band wasn't too keen with keyboards because Ed was also the guitar player . He couldn't play both instruments at the same time and there weren't many sequencers that could help live playing at the time .

Van Halen was an American hard rock band founded by Dutch guitarist Eddie van Halen and his brother Alex in Pasadena, California. 40 years 🎂 Written by Van Halen. The late Eddie van Halen, RIP, was inspired by ZZ Top album Eliminator. He and his brother Alex learned piano 🎹 as their first instrument. Knowing this helped them for the album 1984 and future albums. Thriller was Number 1 in sales in 1984. The fact that Eddie played on that album was why his band could only reach Number 2. L 🤣 L Suggested video 📹: Van Halen performs I'll Wait live in Montreal in 1984.

I've seen both classic versions of Van Halen live (with David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar on lead vocals) and both have their pros. Songs with David I recommend: Panama, Hot For The Teacher, Running With The Devil, Romes Delight. Songs with Sammy I recommend: Why Can't This Be Love, Right Now, Finish What Ya Started, Feelin' BTW Gary Cherone is actually from the band Extreme and is still active in there. They brought out a new album in 2023. Maybe he was once in Van Halen's live line-up?

When this video had been given quite some views at MTV it divided the hardrock fans into two camps! First one were the puritans who thought it was the worst kind of blasphemy that their guitar hero Eddie van Halen played on a synth! Why would that be so horrible one might ask? Maybe not so much in America but in Europe during the '80s you either listened to hardrock/metal or electronic music known as synth short for synthesizer. Second group were more cool about Eddie playing on a synth they felt it made no difference. Eddie was still Eddie the guitar hero plus the synth fit the song so to speak. The lead singer here David Lee Roth was known as quite the performer! The perfect guy to front a band on stage.

Hagar was good but Diamond Dave rocked. Van Halen never sounded as good after the split. Their sound was more pop than hard rock. It's also a fact that they sold more albums with Roth.
