What I always loved about hiking was that there were so many beautiful things to experience that most people would never see. I'm glad you had the opportunity to see such beautiful creatures.: Hemingway cats. Nicknames for these kitties also include mitten cats, boxing cats, conch cats, mitten-foot cats, snowshoe cats, six-fingered cats, thumb cats and Cardi-cats. What makes these kitties so unique? They have extra toes! 😺😻😺

You wanna see some wildlife and bears hike the Benton Makaye! It's primitive. I did not see anyone for 100 miles.

What a treat seeing bears and a bobcat in the same day! Most people don't get to experience the adrenaline rush you get from seeing a wild bobcat or bear up close and personal like that... nothing compares!

You're a real trooper ! I'm very familiar with the Cohutta wilderness. This end of the Pinhoti trail is my favorite. Lots of bear, bobcat, deer, turkey and snakes too...

My stepson and I saw a bobcat at 5:15 am this morning heading up to McAfee Knob. My first time experiencing anything like it! It was so awesome, yet scary at the same time.

Polydactyly (cat). They're cartoony. The little black hen gettin' underway. Sorry to see the cabin go. Beautiful day. Bears and Bob and the weird persimmon tree. Yeah don't push when feet are already sore. It's not best and could do damage. The foggy ending was cinematic. I so looked forward to the postings about the Pinhoti hike. Thanks so much.

Love it! A Bobcat and a Bear. I've hiked at least every weekend for the past 8 years in SoCal and a few in Nevada. I've never seen a Bobcat or a Bear. Cougar, yes! Deer, absolutely! And, sometimes a Ram or two! So cool! Good call on the 40 mile day and thinking ahead.:)

I would hope smaller bobcats and smaller bears might not chase humans. You sure are subject to the wild on trail. Takes special folks like you, to do trail hiking. Thank you so much for sharing, always a treat to see things through your lens. I still remember you showing the owl up in the tree on the A.T.. 👍😊⭐️

I spent a lot of time in the woods when I was younger, but I never saw a bear or a bobcat. I never saw a bigfoot either. That would have been awesome. I have really enjoyed watching you hike this trail. I can't wait to see what you do next.

Was looking forward to seeing this section since Dennis Mill Trail head is 15 minutes from me. I used to live by Atlanta and am so glad to now be this close to the Pinhoti to run/hike on. Congrats on seeing your first bear!!

I saw a lynx once, but it was winter and I wasn’t hiking. We were driving on gravel in the bush north of Fort McMurray.

Congrats on the bear sightings, I am always excited to see one. from a distance. I will be on the AT near my home early next week, sussing out when to do trail magic, I have noticed an uptick in hikers in town and crossing the bridge in the Lehigh Gap, so I think the time is getting ripe for some donuts muffins and coffee early in the morning.

So cool seeing the bear and bobcat. Almost looked like that bobcat was attacking something and you spooked off. Probably had a snake or squirrel it was after maybe. Enjoyed the video 👍

You actually don't want to be quite around a bear you want to let it know you are there normally they mive away from human activity. Talk loudly but don't startle them.
