Yay !!!! I was hopeful there would be Trail magic at Coleman Lake CG. This section is the section I’ve hiked the most on the Pinhoti…so cruisy ! There are so many clips in this video that are awesome ! I especially liked the little pine tree in the dead log (at the beginning). That bench at Calhoun Camp & view is new since I last hiked through. Very nice ! This section seems to get frequent controlled burns that help the Loblolly Pine trees thrive. Also, the wildlife is so prevalent due to the burns, that one is likely to seem quite a bit of it. Thank you for showcasing our little jewel called the Pinhoti. Onward to the next video. ⚡️JBEN⚡️

The best thing about burn areas… no ticks. Today’s vistas were stunning. Awesome that you and Tripod are on your 3rd long trail together. Trail friends are awesome. Hope James can make it back out for a section soon.

It warms my heart everytime you report there are decent people in this world. I'm from the South but my town has been overrun and is not what it once was.

I camped at Pine Glenn camp and Camp Coleman last month. My first visit to Pine Glenn was in 1968 before the Pinhoti was a trail.

Incredible video 9Lives, except the black widow and the water moccasin. 😮 So funny you smelled the campers cooking dogs and you eventually got some! Rest well ✌️

That bench at the campsite with the amazing view is new. I camped there in mid-January and it wasn’t there. That spot is awesome at night!

The trail gets really thin for a while. Going into Cave Springs is a Moutan Bike trail. That day is an easy 30 miler if you want it gradual down hill for about 15 or 20 miles. Stay at the Hern Inn. It’s wonderful. Don’t stay at the motel it is a mess. Good resupply and good restaurant in Cave Springs. Swimming too.
