Thank you! Yours was the only video to clearly show the proper way to remove the front panel lower clips. Knowing I needed a new door flap and there was a retrofit kit that doesn't have the flap heater - and also a kit to repair broken door hinges internally if needed, I wanted to remove the panel prior to ordering to ensure I only needed the new door kit and also to unplug the door flap heater that is contributing to the dripping water caused by the also worn out foam on the door flap.

Excellent video. The micro switch just needed to be reset in the proper position. The plastic holders went bent out of alignment causing the water dispenser lever not to make contact. Works great now!!!

I found out my issue from your video (thanks). When I took the cover off, I saw that the water dispenser microswitch was loose. Looks like the 2 pins that hold the microswitch broke off. That is why the water paddle stays in and does not spring out. I hit the microswitch and it dispenses water. Switch just doesn't stay in place. I'll have to replace that bracket, I guess. Just need to figure out the part number for my Whirlpool Fridge model ED5VHEXVQ00, just in case you sell it and I can buy it from you (although I see this video was made 9 years ago).

Thanks a ton! Worked well for fixing the ice dispenser, I had three broken plastic pieces on that side and the one for the water was barely on. Just some advice, take a picture of where all the wires you disconnect go, so it won't be confusing to remember. Thanks again!

That's exactly what brought me here. I was trying to remove the front cover, to access the shute area better, to clean, and remove the mold. My wife was being tortured by it. The biggest help was learning how to remove the cover, by starting at those 2 pressure points at the bottom.

Thanks for the insight on how to pop off the cover. Only concern was after I was done and stepped back and I noticed indentations on my black refrigerator below the cover from the tac remover. That being said I have a recommendation for you and or anyone else. When popping off the cover with a tac remover or flat head place a thin piece of wood against the refrigerator and use that to pry against to avoid indentations on your fridge.

If you cant get the cover off with a flathead screwdriver, get a pair of crummy needle nose tweezers, curl the ends symmetrically with pliers, and then cover should pop right off. And luckily for me it was just the switch that came off!

I replaced my Kenmore Ice maker about a month after it started clicking very loudly as the module system rotated- It finely died. Kenmore Model 10652214104 replacement was fairly easy Pn# 4317943 and straight forward however it has never restarted, is there a reset process that must be followed for the circuit board to recognize the new ice-maker? I am pretty sure that was a mistake. I think that is why they stopped recording to clear up that the problem wasn't under the refrigerator. The problem was in the door not under the refrigerator.

My ice maker is making ice but the fridge is not dispensing ice (from the front of it). I suspect there is a switch in the freezer door but I'm not sure how to access it without damaging the front icemaker/water dispenser panel. My fridge is a kenmore model 106.56726602, stainless steel with black front handles and black dispenser panel. [Since the fridge makes ice this is not a REAL emergency.]

Sounds like someone reversed the water lines on the two water valves located in the back of the refrigerator. One valve should be operated by the ice maker timer and control water into the ice maker. The other should control the water dispenser. Did someone work on your refrigerator before you had this problem?

There was something wrong! the right side of the bracket has a broken peg where the water switch is supposed to fit and stay, but the switch itself is hanging and out of place that's why there's no water coming out of the dispenser.
