At first, I thought Rio was going to be the dude that tried to kidnap Elysium and shot her dad, and that he encouraged his wife to move next door so he could keep stalking Elysium. It could also have been a coincidence, but he still chose to stalk her once he saw her again. Just anything that makes him "deadly". Edit: That also would've made more sense as to why Rio didn't tell Elysium he was going to the same school when they first met. He could've asked about her major when he first moved in, then decided to enroll in some of her classes so he could stalk her at school.

Cannot believe the creators of Deadly DILF had the balls to name the movie like that but not enough to subvert the trope so that the DILF is actually the deadly stalker one (which as I'm writing this it is probably because that would hit too close to home and be too terrifying for a tubi movie)

The whole movie needed to be rewritten. Rio should have been the kidnapper/murderer. He could have either moved next door by coincidence, or he could have manipulated his wife so she'd want to move there. Either way, he could've talked to Elysium and found out she had the same major he did when he was still in school and that they'd be in a lot of the same classes if he chose to re-enroll, so he does. He befriends Elysium (and she ends up befriending his wife as well) but is stalking her the whole time because he is obsessed with younger women since they don't emasculate him like his ex and his wife. Then, he could tie up his wife and kid (maybe the ex too), call Elysium so she comes over to the house, then threaten to kill everyone if she won't run away with him. Then you could have a fight scene where Elysium helps everyone escape, and they all run out of the house with Rio following them, only for Elysium's aunt to end up hitting Rio with her car, killing him.

I was convinced that the twist was going to be that Rio was the guy who killed her father, like the reason the killer didn't look like him in the early scenes was just supposed to be that she never got a good look at him, and the whole plot was her getting revenge for her dad. But, I guess not. So, my experience was that the plot just abruptly stopped making sense at the end.

That is exactly what happened, Rio in fact did kill her fsther and she seeked revenge on him...that's why he ended up in jail and you see her at the end talking her father at his grave

It would also explain why he didn't tell her he was going to her school when they first met. Things about this movie that confused me: - Why did Elysium set a trap for Rio to hurt him if she's obssessed with him and wants to be with him? - The movie alludes to Elysium having some sort of PTSD, is nobody else at all concerned that she displays signs of having a mental health issue or personality disorder? She literally killed a man for goodness sake🥴. -Why does it take so long for the authorities to find the brother's body? - Does anybody ever find out who shot her Dad?😅 Like, was it the ex bf in the hoodie?? - Does the aunt face any consequences for hitting and subsequently killing the wife?

As a unionized employee myself who went on strike last year, every single instance of solidarity means so much. I cannot understate how important it is when people donate to strike funds because it is what allows you to pay your rent and buy groceries and support your family so you can be on strike longer. There are also other ways to support like attending rallies, signing petitions, writing letters, joining the picket line, and bringing food/drink to those on the line. All those on strike deserve to be paid a living wage and to have protections, what they are asking for is never unreasonable.

as a former CPS worker, it highly depends on where you live but in some places CPS can't easily remove children, like where I lived we could not do anything if we did not have approval from the court, which was put in place to prevent unnecessary removals which is good but there were several situations I was in where the child was definitely unsafe and the court didn't listen. It was one of the main reasons I left the job :/

The guy playing Rio (Curtis Hamilton) also played Dr. Dre in Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le and also a TV One movie based on a true story called In Broad Daylight. Both movies are really good. It baffles me as to why he's in a Tubi movie... he's actually a really good actor (from what I saw in Surviving Compton and In Broad Daylight).

Hey everyone, Rio is the one who killed her father in the beginning of the movie, that's what he was serving jail time at the end, for her father's death. She knew he killed her father and decided to take revenge on him and take everything and everyone away from him just like he did to her when he killed her father. That's what the end of the movie hinted when she was talking to her father at his gave.

Literally untrue. The movie doesn’t hint at this. You’re coming up with your own ending that still wouldn’t make sense. The girl told Rio about her dad passing away. The family was notified of an intruder in the neighborhood when they first moved in. These facts alone eliminate Rio being the killer. Secondly, nothing even ties Rio to the killing of the dad or why he would kidnap the girl in the first place. Have fun being unapologetically wrong though

Listening to sleep token’s new album completely rearranged my brain chemistry. I remember listening to Ascensionism for the first time and when the beat dropped with him singing “who made you like this” and I was shocked and completely changed as a human when I listened to the rest of their music 😂

Not done with the video yet, but I really appreciate the beginning. At first, I thought (after another KZfaqr I watch that makes video essays on movies and TV made a community post saying they would only talk about books until the strike was over) you all weren’t allowed to post about movies/TV from struck companies at all whether paid or unpaid so I figured you would talk about reality shows since they aren’t struck. All the stuff I’ve read seems confusing (though I do think SAG has an email for influencers specifically to ask questions!) so I can’t imagine how hard it must be to try and show support (even as a non union person) while still trying to make a living. Hopefully this is fine for content and hopefully SAG/WGA are able to get a deal that’s good for all of them and the creatives to come later. Now to watch the rest of the video! I just really, really, really appreciated the beginning.
