The first DJ to play Bohemian Rhapsody.... he played it constantly for an hour on one of his shows!

I seem to remember him doing a similar thing with ELO's "Wild West Hero" a few years later. What a gifted, natural broadcaster he was.

Belive it or nor, I never heard of Kenny Everett until he popped up on ITV, then the BBC. only after his death did I hear of radio skits et cetera. What a funny funny man, way before his time. Shane Dublin

Kenny was most definitely "The Wireless Wizard", his radio programmes were second to none!

His ITV stuff was good but when he went over to the Beeb, it wasn't quite the same.

He did an interview at his flat or studio in around 1989 and mentioned that he didn’t want to do television anymore. From what I gather, he didn’t really like doing television in the first place. He was literally born for radio from the excellent and wacky radio programmes he made, hosted, edited, etc. I’ve been listening to his BBC Radio shows from the early 80s and they are brilliant. I was even listening to a Christmas show he did for Radio 4 in 1972 and especially at the time when it was probably harder again from the 80s to do edits and fade ins, etc, he definitely knew his stuff.
