My father took me to see this movie with him as a child. My parents were just freshly divorced at that time. This movie was a beautiful story between a father and son. My dad loved this movie. As I get older I really appreciate it. This song is so beautiful as well and fits the film perfectly. This last December my dad passed away unexpectedly. Today was his birthday and I looked this song up because it reminds me of him and our bonding during that hard time. I can’t stop tearing up listening to this. ❤️

I was born in 82 and loved every minute of the 80's. Ive often said itvwas the best for music in pretty much every music genre and for movies too. The 90's had some good stuff too!! The greatest thing was people were more genuine, original with their music, film, and everything else!! Nowadays people just copy or remake everybody else's work!! May you all have a great blessed day, stay safe, and god bless!!

In a lifetime Made of memories I believe In destiny Every moment returns again in time When I've got the future on my mind Know that you'll be the only one Meet me halfway Across the sky Out where the world belongs To only you and I Meet me halfway Across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life In a lifetime There is only love Reaching for the lonely one We are stronger when we are given love When we put emotions on the line Know that we are the timeless ones Meet me halfway Across the sky Out where the world belongs To only you and I Meet me halfway Across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life Meet me halfway Across the sky Out where the world belongs To only you and I Meet me halfway Across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life

I'd be honored if some fans of classic 80s rock anthems would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor and IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune. Stay safe and keep on rocking in the '020s.

Well, I agree this is one of the many feel good movies. The father and son bonding, the death of the mother and the rich vindicative grandfather trying to tear them apart. The father's willingness to sacrifice his own happiness to protect his son and the son discovering his grandfather's treachery and then chasing after his dad. Then the dad overcame his own insecurities and kicking ass. And then taking the prize money and his son and starting their life together. This is a movie that every father and son needs to watch together and especially listening to Kenny Loggins song 'Meet me Halfway'

Kenny Loggins’ vocals couldn’t guarantee him that much success. His ability to score hits was not very consistent and seemed to only really click completely with the public solo when he made songs for movies. Back in 1984, when Wham! was first popular in America, George Michael was underrated by the American music media because they felt he sounded too much like Kenny Loggins. By the time of this, George Michael became more of a household name than Loggins ever was.

Kenny Loggins was Mr. Soundtrack in the 80's....Over The Top, Footloose, Top Gun...Had the chance to meet him at a private concert I provided security for. I was in charge of backstage and his trailer. He invited me in with the band, had lunch, told me I could raid the fridge or use the facilities if needed so I didn't have to use the porta john. Got to watch his whole show from the stage and forgot just how many hits the man had. Very humble and down to earth. Cool experience.

Lyrics In a lifetime Made of memories I believe In destiny Every moment returns again in time When I've got the future on my mind Know that you'll be the only one Meet me halfway Across the sky Out where the world belongs To only you and I Meet me halfway Across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life. In a lifetime There is only love Reaching for the lonely one We are stronger when we are given love When we put emotions on the line Know that we are the timeless ones Meet me halfway Across the sky Out where the world belongs To only you and I Meet me halfway Across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life.

How is it that Kenny’s songs move my heart into a level it only can experience once my ears are touched by his voice?

A beautiful song and movie about a fathers love for his son

This song meant so much to me growing up in the 80s when my mother and father had divorced in 81 and I hadn't seen my father in so many years, I always thought about him as I was in Ohio and he was in Pittsburgh where I was born, still there was the connection I had to him to me he was a god even when he would visit in the summer for a short spell not having him close to me as I needed him so much to help me develop into a young man. It wasn't long I went to live with my father and are bound was so great it was as if no time without him ever existed and this song and movie was so instrumental to my love for my pops, We were inseparable and never went a week without talking as I became an adult. It's sad to see kids don't have music that connects us to are father's mother's siblings all it is ,is sex dumb drugs hell there's not even rock n roll just ignorant music that divides us and creates aggression and violence.. I miss my father he passed away a year ago, so many great men that mentored me but none did I place higher than my father, he was a man of love honor and respect. As a kid me and him would watch over the top , the greatest line in this movie was so true ( the world meets no one half way) tell your son's and daughters that , hopefully they will understand...
