Yeah. That's George Hawkins. He passed away a few years ago. Depending on your age or what type if music you typically listen to, you've probably heard him more than you realize. He was definitely awesome. I've wondered why he wasn't more famous as a solo act. I've never really looked into into it. Maybe he just didn't want to be.

@@thomastheys6681 I'm sure you count yourself fortunate for that friendship. As a kid in the 70s learning to play guitar and sax, I was more interested than most of my friends in the who's who among the bands I heard on the radio and albums. Somehow, George managed to slip by until almost the 90s before I ever really began to learn who he was. I kinda felt like I was the victim of an inside joke and that he was intentionally being hidden from me in plain sight, if that makes any sense at all. I couldn't believe it had taken me that long to find out about him. Although it did give me an opportunity to revisit some of my favorite music all over again so, it turned out to be a good thing. Folks who aren't that into music probably think that's overly dramatic but, that's exactly how it seemed.

But it wasn't until this year that I found out that they're saying "Sweet love showing us a heavenly light." I always thought that they were saying something about birds on a feathery flight! X-D I mean, I was a little girl and we didn't have google lyrics back then!

Every time I hear this song it reminds so much of one of the female ice skaters back when we were chorus skaters and on tour with Holiday on Ice. She LOVED it! If you skated with Holliday on Ice in 1977-78 in the southeastern United States, I very likely saw you and may have even met you and/or her. I saw those shows 4 different times an twice was able to met some of the skaters. Skating was a big thing in those days. Ice, roller and board. I remember one year they also had a Sesame street show with all the characters on ice.

@@johnpearson4899 I joined the show the following year. We did perform in many cities within the Southeast. The shows were indeed very popular drawing large audiences. We loved performing for all. Glad you got to meet the skaters. We were an "assorted" group of young skaters touring and doing what we loved to do on those steel blades. It was always great to meet so many interesting and fun people (outside the show) and from across the country. Many served as tour guide in their hometown. And could provide the best restaurants to eat. (Although we really had to watch what we ate because we got weighed in on a scale every week. It was not the best part of show life.)
