I was absolutely shattered on Saturday when I heard the news. Kenny Rogers has always had a special place in my heart and has never left my playlist, even before there was such a thing as playlists lol. Aside from being one of the greatest singers and storytellers there has ever been, he was the first artist I asked my parents to take me to see in concert when I was five years old, way back in the 80s. It was such a special experience for me, aside from an amazing performance. I walked up to the stage to give him a rose I brought, but when I got up there, he was so big up there on that stage that I got scared and dropped the rose. He came to the edge of the stage and knelt down to talk to me, and he had such a sweet and calming presence about him, that it put me at ease and I finally got to hand him the rose. That memory has stayed with me all my life, and it set the bar pretty high for every concert I have attended in the decades since. Nothing has ever beat it though. Such a sweet, kind and gentle man, and he will be missed deeply.

I've always loved the phrase "Every hands a winner and every hands a loser". Because its not WHAT was "dealt" to us in life that makes our lives go one way or the other, its what we CHOOSE to do with it. Do we Rise to the challenge, occasion or trial? Or do we let fear, doubt or depression overcome our faith that we are never given more, each day, than we have the ability to overcome? Hope springs forth Eternally.

Hope you feel better keep safe!! 💕 perfect tribute to Kenny Rogers 💔👍 I saw him in the 70’s with his band the ”First Edition” for my 18th birthday in Ft Lauderdale Florida at the ”Bachelors Club” they had a 2 drink min. I was with a bunch of tea drinkers, Soooo I drank all the (1) extra’s. Needless to say I had a great time although a bit drunk 🍻 after the show Kenny walked up to a few guests table and mine was one of them, of course my party pointed me out as the birthday girl and Kenny gave me a polite hug and asked me a few questions. I in my drunkenness got carried away with the hug because he smelled like heaven and I started to rub his arm telling him the show would have been better if he had played ”Somethings Burning” my then-favorite! That particular memory will probably go to my grave so will my admiration of Mr. Rogers and his life long work he shared with the rest of the world! Rest In Peace 💔🌺🌴
