tips for you Kenny (great series so far): -when trading for prospects go for guys 23 and younger or if they’re in the 24-26 range make sure they’re at least low 70s overall -pick up an outfielder that has elite defense and speed. they’re easy to come by and will be very handy in late game situations -if you want some more realism fix some prospects’ numbers so you don’t have a bunch of 65s and 87s out there -and for some fun but less realism, if you’re hitting crazy good with a guy (like Quero) go and give him some boosts to his ratings to reflect that better. guys have insane breakouts in real life so +3 to hitting attributes when you’re raking with him won’t kill the realism

For reference going forward: Ezequiel Duran is a B potential 2B from the Texas Rangers who is easy to acquire on franchise, Joe Musgrove is a B potential starting pitcher who’s easy to acquire on franchise and Anthony Santandar is an RF that’s easy to get. Sometimes a team will bring in their closer even if it isn’t a save situation. This usually happens if it’s a tie game, or if they’re down by 1 or 2, because the closer gives them the best chance to stay close in the game

For me, you don't trade what you can't replace. This means if you have a young 3B to replace Yoan then do it but if you don't then keep him. Prospects are tricky but if you want a player to grow in a specific area then have a look at training. Also, trading Jimenéz and Moncada will severely hurt the team's competitiveness (which you said matters to you). If the issue isn't hitting (they scored 14 runs without your assistance) then draft starting pitching and trade your old arms for slightly less older arms. Also, in my opinion, Crochet should be put back into the pen. Just my thoughts. If you draft 2 or 3 starters and trade for starters as well, then I see no reason for trading your only 2 good bats. Now not trading someone because you have a personal attachment isn't realistic and doesn't help you at all. You can also sim to the end (after draft day) and start the off-season with a clean sheet. This means NOT giving 1 year deals to EVERYONE that needs 1; let them go and replenish what you need to.

Tips on MLB trades (especially in the show) moving forward, teams in contention don't necessarily need the position for the value, sometimes they just want.a lefty bat or a power swing etc. look for that and get 18 yr olds with C potential. If younger guys perform well their potential can go up too. just taking long shots on a lot of dudes is always better than a mid 20s guy who's active with B potential and a low OVR. Happens in baseball a lot, quantity over quality on prospects because their are decent odds that one will be a future asset or semi-legit player and the other guys will be out of the league

As an avid mlb the show franchise user, the players that simulate the best in the game are as follows: Batters: players that have good plate discipline, paired with average plate vision Pitchers: players that have very good bb/9 (walks per 9 innings), good hits/9 You can trade for a lower rated hitter/pitcher that has good potential that won’t make the series unrealistic. I promise they will add at least 5-10 wins to your team

Honestly i think moving crochet to the bullpen would be a better move in game. His stamina and his BB/9 stats are just too low for him to be a consistent starter that goes deep into games. If you check the box score he’ll hardly ever pitch more than 4 innings, It’s something I noticed in my franchise

It's an old school way of thinking to only bring in your closer when it's a closing situation so his arm stays good. But the new school way of baseball says to pitch him to keep the arm fresh and to keep there team in the game for the bottom if they are the home team.

I know this is semi-realistic, but realistically you should trade relievers on an expiring contract who are doing good. They won’t have high value, but getting any prospect out of it is a realistic deal and will help you in the long run. (Plus I’d like to see Tim Hill pitch in your games, he’s a fun side-arm lefty specialist despite being a low overall)
