Larry is awesome! True definition of kenpo techniques.

What is so amazing is the way he paralyzes the opponent so they can't move from the very first touch after they're paralyzed he can unleash all of the other kempo techniques because they are frozen in position and unable to move so amazing

Mr Tatum is a gifted theorists who moves well but has never been in a real fight. 😳 For a fact.. I'm a Senior Master Instructor in American kenpo.

Thank you for uploading these. I would be interested to see Rotating Destruction if you have that one.
@anthonymalgiero42159 жыл бұрын
KeepItFresh02 These are uploaded according to Form 4. If you notice they are numbered from 1-20 in order as done in Form 4. Only these are the complete techniques from start to finish and not the abbreviated versions done in the form. I believe Casa de Kenpo has rotating destruction as performed by them. I know its not Larry Tatum but it's still pretty much the same tech.

There's a dude that goes on all possible Kenpo videos around to talk shit. You go into his account and what does he practice? TAEKWONDO! The single most bullied and ridiculed martial art out there and this guy feels like he has any sort of authority to critique all martial arts lol! Not only that, he's ITF, so not even the most famous TKD out there. Personally, I like ITF TKD but their One Step Sparring and self defense techniques are things like: Enemy punches at you--> Knife hand block, Step to the side in a HORSE stance and retaliate with straight punch. Compared to that, Kenpo techniques are vastly superior. Keep in mind, even if you don't agree with these techniques, THEY'RE ONLY ONE ASPECT OF KENPO TRAINING. Kenpoist people still train your usual Strikes, combinations, padwork, bagwork, sparring, and most have included stand up grappling and ground game. Most of these strike training things have an emphasis on realism, such as being focused on low, practical kicks over flashy ones, using elbows, hammer fists, etc. So, you know, don't talk about what you don't know.

When Larry tells you to do something, you don't have much of a choice Mr. Baggins. This can be either awkward or painful! :'D

Would this work Againts a MMA Fighter ???
@kybone258 жыл бұрын
of course not! its for show. Kenpo is more of a demonstration/competition type martial art/business. At least thats what it evolved into. Mma people, boxers, or anyone with a shread of common sense dont throw step through reverse punches. Against which almost all of the kenpo punch techniques are designed for. Kenpo is promoted as a practical working system of self defence fighting. But only about 20% of whats in it is useful. Long techs like these bedazzle the public and get them training on a path that only gives them a false sence of security and a lighter wallet.

I would think that it could if you modified it to match the pace of a fight. kenpo has a lot of good techniques, but I see what people mean when they doubt it. I can see the value in it
@derekv45527 жыл бұрын
The big, honest answer is....maybe. An MMA fighter has knowledge in various things, in which makes more complicated techniques like these very difficult to pull off. If the question is about this particular technique, probably not. Or not least not verbatim. A lot of the techniques arent really made for ring fighting anyway.
@morthemex6 жыл бұрын
It could, or couldn't. Kenpo has many techniques for many things, and while it does have free form training, its not what people mainly fall back on. A lot of kenpo students don't know what to do if the technique doesn't go as they plan. So it ends up being based on who you trained with, because although this technique may work, the fighter may respond in a way you don't expect, in which you need to fall back on a free form style of combat.

If you take a so called "MMA Fighter" off the soft mats and onto the wood floor, or even better out to the street or the car park; take off the soft pillow gloves so he is facing a karate man's conditioned bare knuckles that can break wood; put on hard shoes, or still better, steel cap boots; take the lights down so it is like a street at night, or better still go outside to the street at night; get rid of the referee, the rules and the time limit, as well as the bell that tells him when it's time to begin and end the round; also get rid of the weight categories; and give him a few moments to realise that he is not "fighting" in a controlled situation with safetys and that he is in a cold blooded REAL fight, let the shit run down his leg as he shits himself, and YES this would do far more than "WORK". You UFC fanboys, who have never been in a match let alone a real fight, need to get your heads out of your fucking asses.

dude, your forearms would be kicked in two if you tried this against a trained kicker; you're blocking down straight against the path of the leg. you can't match force against force. Far better, step back and just lift your front knee while keeping your upper body and face covered.
