In this video, we have an incredible vocal performance by Dimash Kudaibergen. Prepare yourself for goosebumps as you see a world-class vocalist SMASH this song!
DIMASH - ADAGIO - Vocal Coach Reaction - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
Adagio. What a piece of musical art!
A song primarily first popularized by Lara Fabian, vocalist Dimash Kudaibergen displays an absolutely epic performance of this magnificent work.
I have seen many people try to cover this song and, in my opinion, I have not seen anyone performing as well as Lara Fabian. That is until I saw Dimash Kudaibergen take it on!
The song begins with the warm melancholy of a lover waiting for their loved one intensely, in despair, sorrow and hope.
The song continues to escalate with very difficult intervallic vocal lines and a fantastic display of crescendo and diminuendo phrases bringing on an intimacy with the listener second to none.
Come join me as we explore Dimash's version of this masterpiece and the various vocal techniques used combined with his sensational passionate performance!

I will never understand the criticism of Dimash's pronouncing the language from some frustrated people. I always feel like asking then how they would sing in Kazakh or Chinese or Russian. Dimash sings in all these languages. His English will probably never be perfect as he hasn't learned it since he was a child. And very well! I love its uniqueness and charming pronunciation - the so-called Dinglish. :) In addition, there has long been a lot more looseness in the world when it comes to accent and pronouncing words in a foreign language - so critics - "loosen your buttocks"! Ken, how nice to see your smug face when you listen to Dimash. 😍 You're right, Dimash is like a fresh breeze in a world flooded with trash and cheapness. Waiting for more Dimash. I heartily recommend you the beautiful Kazakh ballad Qairan Elim from the online concert, you will see wonderful new colors of his voice there.

I don't even think about jumping on their channel or any other video and venting my negative emotions. I just don't get it.

Just in case u don't know - this performance was part of the competition called the singer, in China. He was invited, because the organisers heard him sing somewhere else, n tght he'd be a good addition. He was already winning prestigious awards etc, but this was the beginning of the world getting to hear about him, because the Chinese loved him and spread the word. So he was 22 back then, 1st time away from his country, no Chinese no English, he did hve an interpreter some of the time. So each song he sang he had a week to learn, this adagio, was the 2nd English song he ever sang, and learned within the week. The audience are the judges they decide who goes thru to next round. Dimash was the only foreigner ever to be invited to take part, all other participants are professional, well known and established singers. So I hope that puts a bit of perspective on his English songs. An amazing young man. So glad u said what u did in regard to his pronunciation. Like to hear them sing in kazack or Russian. 🤔

I agree with your comment, but your asking who among English speakers can speak at least a second language, was somewhat offensive. Plenty of native English speakers are able to speak more than just English. I myself am trilingual. I know what you meant, but the way you said it came across in a rude way. Have a good day.

@@joshuaburba1048 you are right, there are a lot of singers, who can more than one language. Like you. He had his problems with this language. But I am very proud of him, that he concentrated his efforts on the vocals and the presentation of the song in that short time to prepare his performance. These are just the universal languages in our world. And he won this episode!!! He sings perfect in kasakh, russian, uzbek, kirgiz, japanese, ukrainian, tatar. He sings well in italian, chinese... his knowledge of french, english, spain is in progress... I think, it is more than enough.

Thank you for defending Dimash singing English. He has worked hard to improve his English and his latest music is evident of that. That being said those who criticize his English need to show us how they do in 13 different languages since that is now the number of languages he has performed in. His latest Ken... Ikanaide is in Japanese and it is absolutely stunning. Please consider doing it. It is just Dimash in a studio performing for the Tokyo Jazz Festival . It was in studio due to Covid restrictions. Lara Fabian is a class act. She actually congratulated Dimash on this performance and they are now friends. In fact, she wrote the lyrics to a song for Dimash called Your Love. Igor Krutoy wrote the music, and Lara the lyrics and just for Dimash to sing. She also performed with Dimash and another incredible opera singer Aida Garifullina. They sang Ti Amo Cosi.

I think we forget that it is in a singing contest, with professional participants established in China. He entered as a wild card and the first foreign artist invited to that annual contest, "The Singer 2017" where Dimash was 22 years old (the youngest contestant in the history of the contest) the producers thought that it would only last one or two programs and would be eliminated by the juries. You can understand now why Dimash attacked that song in such a way, to show his virtuosity (by the way he won that episode). On the other hand, Dimash never sings his songs or versions the same way. Greetings from Panama.

Actually Lara Fabian congratulated Dimash for his Adagio version . They finally met in person 2 years ago during Mr. Igor Krutoi’s birthday bash in Russia where they both had a duet together and trio afterwards with Aida , a Russian renowned opera soprano singer. Lara also wrote a song for Dina’s Your Love, music composed by Mr. Igor himself. See, Lara and Dimash both under the wings of Igor’s music talents. They both performed under this great pianist and introduced to the public . Adagio is one of the iconic songs Dimash had to perform during the China’s singing competitions called The Singer in 2017. He won first place in this 6th episode. A beautiful song and his great take on it ❤️

I agree with everything you said in this reaction Ken. When he sang this 5 years ago he couldn't speak any English. Now his pronunciation is in my option far better than most of the mediocre so called pop stars in the U.S. charts today. I also believe that many of his performances will go down in history as simply the greatest of All Time. People will be playing his music in a 100 years time and wishing that they had the opportunity to go to one of his "Live" concerts. If you ever get the chance Ken, you MUST go and see him. 😃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

im SO HAPPY! more dimash ty sir respected vocal coach Ken! Sir Ken what do you think of my OPINION? theres a DIFFERENCE between SINGERS and VOCALIST. I would suggest every human being have different taste in music and favourite artist/singer but VOCALIST is something totally different. To me SINGERS are SUBJECTIVE and VOCALIST are OBJECTIVE because it can be measured. Its not fair to compare Dimash with the top music/songs because thats SUBJECTIVE. What we CAN say is this that Dimash is RANK 1 vocalist without a SHADOW of a doubt beause he has a 7octive range complete control over each of his voices, a D8, smooth transitions, accuracy, HUGE BREATH CONTROL and BREATH RESERVE and efficiency of sound, GREAT VOCAL technique and ABSOLUTE HEARING. on paper nobody can compete with him. So basically you might dislike dimash as a person or you dislike his voice or you dislik his english but YOU CANT DENY his VOCAL PROWESS. You are forced to have him as Rank 1 Vocalist because theres nobody on the planet/history that is as ACCOMPLISHED vocally as he is.

Since this performance his English has improved quite a bit but really who cares. If you want some proof that language means very little to someone like Dimash listen to his performance of Ave Maria where he doesn't sing a single syllable and it is one or the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

I mean it’s ridiculous.. he’s not a native English speaker, and if by chance you have any info about Kazakhstan you’ll know how hard it’s to have a great or perfect English accent, because of how different their language and their pronunciations are. Even though I don’t see a lot of people putting down his English in a derogatory fashion, I’m very glad you defended him on this issue because it really shouldn’t matter. A lot of the people who might criticize him can’t even sing in his language, or even their own language, very distinctly with a good enunciation. How come any of them probably can’t even sing on pitch! And I agree with what you said, which is why I never make a big deal about even American singers whose lyrics I don’t understand, cause as long as I can feel the emotion that’s what matters to me. You could hear it in their voice.

All songs performed by him carry a complex and deep meaning and often turn into a hymn. Even such a famous composition as Adagio Dimash started from the original - he himself performed "Adagio in G minor for strings and organ based on two fragments of the theme and digital bass Tomaso Albinoni (1742), Remo Giazzotto, 1945" - the full title of this piece of music. He played it in the college. And only then he sang a modern cover with obvious oriental notes, which was arranged by Erlan Bekchurin (Qazaqstan) for Dimash. As a result, the song performed by him has changed beyond recognition for the better. All songs became Hymn. And you have to know 99% of Dimashs songs were arranged by Erlan Bekchurin especially for Dimash. Erlan starts to work with Dimash when Dimash was 10 y.o.

How wonderful to watch you analyze Dimash again, Ken. A mini-Dimash marathon? I'm so here for that! You know, one of the great tragedies of that "World's Best" TV show that Dimash participated in is that the producers chopped and edited his last performance, which was "Adagio", into an unrecognizable two minutes. I've heard from people who were there in the audience that it was one of the most jaw-dropping exhibitions of Dimash's vocal prowess, and now we'll never get to hear it 💔. "Adagio" is such a difficult song, and it would've been awesome to hear what Dimash did with it two years after this performance you analyzed. Looking so forward to see what other performances you've selected! I'm hoping for his performance of "Ikanaide" from the 2021 Tokyo Jazz Fest. For me, it's some of the best vocal work he's done so far.

Diction or enunciation of words is part of a skill of the singer. Some such as Sinatra are famous for their enunciation....if you as a singer want to ignore this aspect of singing that is your prerogative but don't complain when critics point this weakness or flaw out. If you wanna sing with diction like the Sex Pistols you really shouldn't be a Broadway singer.

This is Dimash's performance at the Chinese competition "I AM SINGER" in early 2017, he is still only 22 years old and he is still only on the approach to world fame and recognition. Here he does not know English very well, his French in "SOS" is also not perfect... Today Dimash is already a venerable performer, speaking good English, which is noted by all native speakers. His technique is getting better, especially in the bass and baritonal register. You, Ken, are an upscale professional and your opinion is worth a lot...

Hello, love your reaction, I have a question, in your opinion why the American industry of music doesn't recognize Dimash and he's work, that for me he is the best,. There are many "plastic" music and bad singers whith success, and Dimash have all, voice, carisma, stage presence, emotions... and the big market of music doesn't appreciate him. Can you give me your opinion? Thanks

I think Lara congratulated Dimash in her Instagram. She later also called Dimash in his birthday and sang HB song for him. They saw each other and sang together in 2020. Dimash fanboyed her so adorably there:) Lara also wrote the words to a song she meant for Dimash, which Igor Krutoy composed - 'Your Love'. They all have a beautiful relationship with each other.

Dimash is almost like a mix of Prince and Andrea Bocelli. He can take classical music and make it sound modern so easily. And he’s got a range that could break both the devils knees with one note and high five angels with the next. He’s a next level freak of nature.

Phenomenal performance !!! Not my speed, but amazing. And as a self taught speaker of conversational German, some Spanish, & a small amount of functional Japanese, it is INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to learn to correctly enunciated a foreign language with different vowel & consonant sounds, combinations, and & inflections. And that's just SPEAKING. Sometimes just parroting without understanding is easier. Conveying the meaning, feeling, emotion, is insanely difficult. I almost got slapped just for asking a colleague if she liked hot weather at the beach!!! Just think, the miniscule differences between sincerity and sarcasm in English. You're 100% 🎯 right. The haters need to crawl back under their rocks & ST#U. PS - You just earned a TON of extra respect from me Ken & I'm sure many others, for leaving 9:51 in 👍✌ It proves you're real, to everyone 🤘 PS PS I not ready to restart my course or sing yet due to the dreaded 2019 Demon, talking isn't even really back yet, so long comments on KZfaq & Email is my outlet for a little while longer. Cheers !!!

For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. The interpretation of the song by Dimash is great. He touches my heart and soul ... every time. This song belongs in Lara Fabian's repertoire, a world-famous singer and songwriter. She wrote the lyrics many years ago to this classical baroque melody that cannot be assigned to any particular artist with certainty. Today it is one of the most popular works of “classical music”. The composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Lara Fabian is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019. * Baroque piece, Albinoni´s famous Adagio: Link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7CImNKL1bPSfpc.html * Lara Fabian - Adagio - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLGkgdh9rJvOcaM.html * Trio (Lara, Aida Garifullina, Dimash) -'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jseBecmiqJnQnok.html * Dimash - Mademoiselle Hyde - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7h5gqyau7LZeZ8.html * Lara Fabian - Mademoiselle Hyde - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etuDd8ebupq3aIGp.html=hCyej7qrwWY

Sigh. Music is a universal language deeply rooted in world cultures. This propagation of the Italian root is a myth - much like saying the sky is blue when it really is the depth of space that gives us this illusion. The omnipresence of music since the beginning of time gives this same illusion for those who believe its origin is Italian. Italy may have been the home of opera that brought the structure and beauty of that genre to the world stage. But many cultures around the world have also had music and honed its language without even knowing the existence of opera or Italy. Are we to deny their contribution to the ever growing globally evolving language of music? Given the rise and proliferation of indigenous sounds today, we have to ask, is this claim reasonable?
@tirallala1
@tirallala1 2 жыл бұрын
@@shrekswife2164 I agree with you. Music is universal and everyone can understand it. It is also not about indigenous music, but about music created by composers and what is necessary for this. In Europe, the center of “created” music was Italy. Musicians from Rome, then the most important music metropolis, and international students from other countries used Italian. The sheet music we use today dates back to 1000 AD by the Italian music theorist Guido d'Arezzo. In order to explain the music in more detail and to tell the performer exactly how to play it, additional Italian words were used by the composers: A cappella: without instrument, Adagio: slow, Allegro: lively, happy, Altissimo: very high, Andante: leisurely, Concerto: concert, Crescendo: ascending (getting louder), Decrescendo: descending (becoming ever quieter), Forte: loud, Mezzo forte: moderately loud, opera: opera, pianissimo: very soft, piano: soft, Poco a poco: piece by piece, Presto: fast, Pace: pace, speed, etc…. And so it still happens today and worldwide. The language of music is used all over the world. Every opera singer learns Italian during his training (not the whole language but the language of the music). Composers from all over the world can communicate if they know the language of music. Sigh.❤

Being 83 and having lived a life of collecting beauty, I never expected to find anything like the musician and instrument that are Dimash. There are so many lessons in there but mainly, that no matter how much beauty you’ve experienced, there is always more that youve not known that is beyond the imagination. There are no limits. I’m so grateful to be alive at the same time as Dimash. Would Western singers be jealous of Dimash's voice and talent? To answer your question. Yes. Dimash is one of the greatest singers of all time even though he's still in his prime. All these Western Vocalists, let me put it lightly, THEY STRAIN, Dimash is a master of technique, a Male Minnie Riperton. He has revived combing operatta with modern music, Dimash has a unique tone that I quite like, it is like Whitney Houston ;soft yet obtrusive, even though, unlike Whitney, he's of the lighter voca, fach he can still make his voice as booming and emotive as a dramatic soprano. In my opinion here's how it is. From a rich and sexy strohbass, to a lyrical tenor, to whistle piercing coloratura soprano notes. He's my male vocal icon. But for all those people who don't like him, he doesn't care, he loves singing, even if it's just for his country, but I used to be jealous too until I came to appreciate his voice. And also Dimash is wise and patient, it took him years to achieve the voice he has now, I have never heard a hint of strain in his voice. Is Dimash the best singer alive? The answer to this is very subjective. When you ask who the “best” singer is, what are you asking? the most skilled? the widest range? the best sounding? Dimash Kudaibergen is a highly skilled vocalist with his voice spanning about 6 octaves, he has great versatility in his singing ranging from traditional, pop, opera, ballads, etc. But the real answer is up to you! He is truly amazing!
