Definitly in the Archon Quests she's an important character I love her story sm and she's so beutiful and pretty.

100%, it adds a bit of weight to the bloodline or style of swordsmanship lineage there seems to be. I'd love to find out more about it in future updates.

The connection is made apparent is English too. Qiqi's normal attack is called "Ancient Sword Art" while Keqing's is "Sword Art." I think miHoYo wants us to make the connection.

I've always wondered where a zombie learned to swing a sword. Baizhu doesn't look like a swordsman either, Mihoyo please enlighten.

Yeah that makes sense, though I think their personalities may be similar with being perfectionists and seeming quite serious and no-nonsense. I'd love to see them have a discussion but it'd likely end up souring relations with their opposing views. That does fit her character but I hope it doesn't happen for a long time. Now you've got me worried about her dying haha

@The Laughing Man she will die from exaustion which is for human is around 50. But teyvat is super weird in terms of tech. We have flintlock rifles looking very futuristic in hands of fatui at the same time, we also got bows and arrows as weapon choice... In past you would think people dying around age 50 is normal and you would say they lived their life to their fullest. If my assoumption is right, teyvat is around 1700, which it would make sense for flintlock and bows appearing at same time. On 1700 people around 18-40 considered to be an adult, 40+ age where you would think you got old. Keqing is an adult, she is not young on 1700 standarts.

@@Razor-so9zk Well that's a bit better for us as I doubt they'll keep the story going for that long haha. Yeah the time it's set in does seem to be around then, though we have weird additions like the Ruin Guards and stuff but they seem like they were introduced to Teyvat from somewhere else (like Khaenri'ah learning how to build them from finding blueprints from another realm or something).

The first thing that comes to mind of Brilliant Instant Is Lightning.

That seems to make the most sense to me too, as much as I'd like to see her be more involved in the main storyline. Damn that's an interesting parallel but I could actually see that if she becomes jaded by the world somehow. I usually play alone too but I might make accounts on other servers once I get my new pc. Probably will take a while as there's a lot of things I need to catch up on but I'll keep you up to date. :)

​@@TheLaughingManLore Do you think each archon will have some sort of god friend that changed their life? so far only Zhong li could be said for certain, for Baal I could only said that because of Honkai and Venti's relationship with the god of time seems insignificant, then again slowly being forget by time and Venti seems to be the type of person to not confront his past but letting things go isn't helping

@@ruupuu8862 Hmm, I'm not sure but I think that Raiden will have Yae as her godlike friend at least, maybe she'll even turn out to be the Fox Goddess we've read about here and there. I think there's still more to be learned about the god of time too and you're probably right about the way Venti handles things so I expect a bit more lore on that when we go back to Mondstadt for a significant event some time in the future.

@@ruupuu8862 i have a mini theory here about venti actually!! Venti was friends with a human before he was Barbatos the Archon. The thing is, we've seen with Baal that their ideals can change. She started off as the archon of wisdom. Now? She's the archon of eternity. Venti might have changed, too. We know he was with Zhongli when taking down Khanriah (idk how it's spelled) and that the main reason why Khanriah was destroyed was *most likely* related to the Unknown god's comment "the arrogance of mankind stops now!" and is what led to them wanting to be worshipped. WE ALSO know that one of those evil gods at the beginning is whom Venti's friend over threw. If some as weak as Guizhong could change the views of the all powerful Rex Lapis, who is to say that this person that Venti cares for so deeply, this weak human with a strong will and *ambition* could change the views of the anemo Archon. To be more clear, I think Barbatos is both that little wisp we know him as AND that evil wind archon before Freedom was an established ideal. We know that Zhongli has multiple forms since he isn't actually human and venti isn't human either. We also know ONLY ONE Archon with the ability to control Geo and Baal is the ONLY Archon who can use electro. So why were there TWO gods with the wind ability in Mondstadt? I highly doubt that there were two, but venti purposely has that separation in historical records because he regrets and is ashamed of what he did by enslaving the human race in his country and doesn't want the people of Freedom to hate him for his past mistakes. I also think that Venti was that little wisp for the sake of seeing human life from a different perspective. And eventually agreed with his views after being able to vicariously relate and see the error of his ways. *BUT* that's just a far fetched theory for the sake of "why not?" So in response to your question, no I don't think it will be a "god" friend for all of them if we take into account Venti (whom we OFFICALLY know less of). But if you have played all of the story quests so far in update 2.0, don't forget that Yae Miko, the kitsune and head shrine maiden in inazuma references an old friend of hers: "much like a certain fatally flawed friend of mine." whom I'm assuming right now is Baal and she's against the vision hunt decree, or at least the method of attaining eternity. This time, I think we will witness/ take part in the changing of an archon's views instead of hearing about it like we have with Zhongli and most likely Venti. ..... Y'know, the more I think about it, the more confused I am with the "canconical" version of Venti. If his ideal is freedom, why did he take down Khanreiah in the first place? Wouldn't he just... leave them alone? I feel like his involvement in the fall of Khanreiah is a great support to my theory^. ALRIGHT rant over, sorry abt that

@@TheLaughingManLore You can't really believe Keqing will get tired of the world and just give up on everything and turn herself against everyone. That's just not possible. Keqing's character is way too strong-minded and never gives up. She's the type that always does everything she can and that is always loyal to her principles and life ethic no matter what. That's Keqing nature.

She does sort of have that when she tries to take on the tasks Rex Lapis did before and finds herself taking months on things that seemed trivial to him. I would like to see her slow down a little too though, maybe the Moonchase Festival in Liyue can give all the over workers a chance to relax a little.

As someone who can relate to her perfectionism (I even have a saying "if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right!"), I'd like to see her learn that like I had too. However, that affects ambition a little too much too considering how closely tied her ambition is to how she sees the world and herself, like with what happened to me. And I think that if she does have this humbling moment, I'm afraid her vision might fade and she'll loose its power. Or at least temporarily since I did get my ambition back eventually after I learned where it is and isn't ok to be a perfectionist and where I need to be self forgiving and flexible towards failure. The only difference was that my ambition wasn't as strong as it used to be. So I hope that if she does loose the power of her vision, she'll be able to get it back but it will rekindle with a different appreciation and view and use and drive from that new found ambition. For argument sake, however, she already did have a humbling moment. It's where she starts to appreciate and relate to and even look up to Zhongli. She did slow down in a way and she has already made a compromise for others to deal with her "speed-run" like perfectionism by giving them a task meant to be completed in a year or two in advance so that by the time she has caught up with them, their jobs would be finished to her liking while also giving them the time they need to do so. On another note, she isn't blind to her own character flaws. Flaws are what make her human and she knows how to exploit that to her benefit: by getting things done. And she knows how to be considerate by accommodating her lifestyle and ideals to be productive for others, and to be flexible in a way that fit the styles of others as well. Heck, if you want to relate to her, her going out into the wilderness is basically her form of vacation. She's a fan of the adepti due to their strengths and ways of life being so different despite their common goal of protecting Liyue. To the average person, that isn't a vacation, but to her, that's how she takes time off from the political ways of life in Liyue (which in turn can also help the people feel more at ease without her "pick up the pace!" attitude around, lol) She may seem arrogant to you, but ultimately, that's her character flaw and she doesn't want to change that. But she does see how it affects people and tries to work around it.

In my opinion Keqing understands her mortality which is why she works hard to make a better future. It's not arrogance but independence I guess because they never know when the gods will forsake them. She does work for the future to pick up.

She foresaw this event of rex lapis leaving his duty, and spoke up and fought to help Liyue realize that sooner or later it would happen and that they need to be prepared when the time comes. And after all, it did, a little too early maybe. But if Rex Lapis was ready to resign from his role, it was bcus he believes that they we're already ready to take up his place. Or that they would manage to do so soon enough. And he actually states in his voiceline about Keqing that it's in part thanks to her that he was able to consider retiring from his duty. Meaning that he has faith in Keqing's leadership.

Keqing already realized and accepted that she underestimated rex lapis by a lot, and she learned from that mistake, the same way she learns from any mistakes she makes. She even began to respect rex lapis and admire him for all his hard work and dedication to Liyue harbor. If u read her lore u would know that she literally does realize all these things and accepts when she's wrong and learns from it. No matter how much pride she has she doesn't let that get in the way of accepting mistakes and learning from them. That's literally how her character is. A human that works as hard as she can but that also knows that she has a limit (like all humans) but she prefers to keep trying her best to prove that humans can take care of their own future instead of relying on the gods to do everything for them.

I forgot to add in my comment that Keqing hair style is the same as Chibiusa from Sailor Moon.

She's not a simp. She only respects and admires all his hard work, as does everyone in Liyue Harbor. She started to respect him after the Qixing took over all his workload and thus they all realized the magnitude of his work and how much he was contributing to Liyue, which they we're not really aware of. That's when she started buying rex lapis merch, after he passed away and she realized the truth behind his form of governance, since she gained a new-found respect for him at that point, but she just doesn't want everyone to know this since it's awkward and embarrasing, given that she has the reputation of a skeptic and criticist of gods. So it's understandable.

I think at the end of it all she realised that there was a lot of work Zhongli did that she didn't realise and was a little overwhelmed with it all but I get what you mean, it didn't get too much focus really.

@@TheLaughingManLore I think what I disliked is that she kind of ignores the large role that the Adepti had in forming Liyue. Also when we first meet her she comes off as being incredibly arrogant and conceited as she's forcing her views down our throat during our first meeting, so she made an incredibly bad first impression on me and I never really liked her since then.

@@AccessTrinity Yeah she was quite adamant with it all at the start wasn't she? I think through reading her lore it's supposed to be something like the arrogance of youth and then her growth is realising that she was wrong about quite a few things. First impressions do tend to stick with you though so I understand what you mean.

@@TheLaughingManLore Like one of her more memorable quotes is that ‘Does Rex Lapis really know everything?’ And all I can think of is ‘Considering that he’s six thousand years old and has managed to rule over Liyue for over three thousand years? Yeah he probably knows almost everything’. I bet he knows a lot more than her who has probably been living in this world for over two decades at most. What annoys me is that these flaws are okay because to be human is to err as well as to have flaws. But at the same time she never gets called out on her arrogance or her rude behaviour at all and the other characters agree with her so she ends up being right all along. Currently writing a fanfic where my character dislikes Keqing and doesn’t hesitate to call her out on her arrogance.

@@AccessTrinity I think Ganyu wasn't very happy with some of her remarks about Rex Lapis but she doesn't seem the type to really call Keqing out, at least in a confrontational way. The others seem to mostly see it as a sort of amusing quirk though don't they, like Ning and Zhongli. It's been a while since I read her lore but iirc her opinions weren't appreciated by the majority of people though so I don't think she had it as easy as we see but they could've shown that pretty easily with an extra scene or two so it's a shame they didn't. Good luck on the fanfic! Sounds like a fun character, I can see the two arguing being pretty amusing! Are they another member of the Qixing? I can imagine Ning/Ganyu trying to break up the arguments haha.
