There's been talk of a PS5 Pro since before the PS5 even released, and it's now looking like it might actually be a reality later this year. Based on reports and leaked specs though, it turns out the Pro system might not be exactly what some folks had in mind, involving its goals for higher FPS, Resolution, and better Ray Tracing performance. With that in mind, is it a good idea to buy a PS5 right now when the Pro is right around the corner?

Xbox don't play games off the disc .. stop spreading lies. Still reliant on Xbox making a custom version of the old game "emulation" that you need to download and they stopped the program last year or so.

If you're like me and haven't gotten a PS5 still, a PS5 Pro is probably the best choice. By the time it comes out, the PS5 Slim will drop in price and PS5 Pro will likely release at the $500 price. Game consoles have always been sold at a loss and the profit loss is made back through software sales, services sales, and accessory sales. If the PS5 Pro can _at least_ outfit at locked 60 fps at 1440p, I think it'll be more than enough for most people. The proprietary tech will probably be able to upscale it to 2160p (or something that looks like it). But for the most part, games running at native 1440p and locked 60 fps will be more than sufficient for modern games.

The funny thing is I don't think very many people want the slim model anyways, person at GameStop wanted the regular non slim version but the manager told him that they don't have any new or used. However the GameStop manager pointed out that since I'm selling my PS5 it's the better model before the slim, so people let me cut in line to sale it to GameStop😅

I've been wanting the Pro and been telling people it's coming even when people denied and protested. I would be verbally defending it with all proof that it's real and finally I'll have my justice, thank 🙏. I want it now and can't wait for it to be up on that ps site! I'm pretty sure I want one, even if its a minor boost What I'm not sure about, is if I should wait to play games like Jedi Survivor, Final Fantasy 16 & rebirth, Cyberpunk, Spider-Man 2. (Yes I know, I'm behind on my backlog. I like to wait on all patches and get discounts) I just think these games could use the boost to balance between the choosable Graphics/ performance options. Personally, I would like all graphics modes to run at 45 fps. For displays that support that. Horizon FW, Spiderman, Ratchet and Clank all felt amazing in that mode. Also I'm a big fan of PSVR2, and Im hopeful games there can also take advantage of the framerate/ graphics enhancements

Same. Just got the OG yesterday. It looks so much better than the slim. And I heard awful reviews about the slim complaining about noise, heat and more issues. Glad I got the OG instead. I hope you are happy with it and enjoy gaming!

If a PS5 pro genuinely does exist that just makes it really difficult to ever buy a PS6. Knowing that as soon as you buy it there's going to be a pro one eventually so why even bother.

It's about options, not limitations. I get what you're saying, but in the tech world, (in life period) better is literally always around the corner; for a lot of things and all is good and beneficial tbh. We need these types of upgrades as a way to progress and find new capabilities and even to create a whole new path. If it weren't for these past gadgets, you wouldn't be able to take advantage of the cpu and gpu of today in an efficient and effective manner. So there is a point to this, it's called "the process" and you have to somewhat trust it along with the knowledge you have gained along the way. People in the comments proved this by stating their ps4 and ps4 pro still slaying for them to this day and don't feel the need to upgrade...apparently they're suckin it dry before it phases out by next year. People are always going to buy at the level they're able to and there are many people at different levels. Just because they can't afford the latest like some others can, doesn't mean they should be deprived from buying anything at all. So in other words, there will always be somebody willing to buy what they can afford to make use of and if that is the latest console such as the PS6, best believe there will be takers because there are people who always need to have the latest and they can definitely afford it...be buying it just because they can if for no other reasons too. Same will be if there's a PS6 pro... will always be buyers.

Honestly, this is probably what I'll do going forward. The fact is that we don't have next gen games on PS5 or XSX yet. So, by the time next gen games are actually being made for the new console, it will be after the Pro release. And most games available on current hardware are also available on last gen hardware. Unless there's some crazy tech jump at the beginning of a console generation, there's no longer a reason to upgrade to next gen at the outset.

67Switch Pro was actually in the works but was cancelled because the chip shortage happened and the normal Switch was still flying off the shelfs.

If you're a Playstation gamer & love tech in general I would just get the PS5 Slim now. You could always trade in the Slim to get PS5 Pro. Plus, scalpers might make it hard to get one. Also, how much is PS5 Pro & how much are you willing to pay?

Just buy the best PC you can afford with a NVME gen 4 and DDR5 and a GPU from the red or green team all that matters is its beefy enough for your needs the Ps5 cant even hit its own targets of 4K 60 to 120 fps it can barley handle 2K 60 at this point and all of Sony's first party exclusives are no longer exclusive just like Microsoft Nintendo is the last man standing Sony is already talking about the end of the ps5 life span despite the fact that consumers are only now able to get there hands on the system this whole thing smells like the Sega Saturn is not our future fiasco or the Wii U which is more hilarious when you look at the PlayStation portal or the PS VR2 it almost seems like Sony is throwing darts at a board and hoping something sticks.
