Fun fact: I was at this performance. My guitarist's room mate at college was an intern at MTV and her job was to give away 20 tickets to this show. I still have the ticket. Most of us sat right behind the tracks for the camera cart but the last two in our group got separated and had to sit behind the band. They're the ones that stood up and were dancing at the beginning of Evenflow. We were kinda laughing at them for doing that but 30 some odd years later, they're the ones that can prove they were there. Lol

The guitar with "the metal around" is called resophonic guitar, but since the most famous brand producing them was Dobro, they are called dobros (so he plays a dobro) ;) They were invented some years before the first electric guitars for increased loudness and are kind of iconic for more blues/roots rock guitar playing.

I saw that and it just wrenched my soul. I loved the tribute Prophets of Rage made at a festival I attended soon after Cornell's death. Tom Morello said few beautiful words about Chris and they played "Like A Stone" and asked the audience to sing. By the time chorus rolled around the wasn't a dry eye in sight, probably because I cried so much. Extremely cathartic

I went on an emo Chris Cornell performances and tributes binge and finally lost it at that one. Chris and Eddie doing Hunger Strike together for the last time is rough too.

It was only a few years ago. I was 23, still living in Wales (UK). In a very distant part of the country as well. There are no opportunities out there for young people unless you drive, you did well at school or you come from a privileged background I was going through some emotional and social complications and really felt that I needed to get away to find a new life. Having been raised in the countryside and feeling at home in the hills, moving scared me silly... but I knew I had to do something. Not long before having an opportunity to move to Fareham on the south coast of England, I got into Pearl Jam and was mesmerized by Eddie's voice and the band's sound. The Album 'Ten' gave me courage and faith in myself and inspired me to go find the life I wanted. Three years later, I'm living in Southampton. I have my own flat, I've got a decent job but also studying part-time to be an electrician. The rest of my life consists of the 2 biggest passions of my life... cycling and music. The issues I had are now just a distant memory. Thank you for everything Geebs! and keep up the amazing work. I look forward to your videos with great anticipation. It's a sad day for me, and this might be the soundtrack of it. My alltime favorite PJ song, thanks for doing this video. ♡

Great reaction as always! I absolutely love Pearl Jam (especially ten). This is definitely on of my fav tracks off of the album. I think most anyone who has had a relationship turn in an unexpected way can identify with the emotional delivery. This band could absolutely paint an amazing sonic canvas, especially back in the "grunge" days.

Geebs I love that your doing Acoustic this week. As a musician and not being in a band for the last 10 years I always have to learn songs acoustic because when I perform it's with an acoustic guitar. There was a stretch of many years of listening to everything unplugged or acoustic so I could get into that zone of even doing songs that haven't been done acoustic and turning them acoustic. Anyways, so now I'm 100% always unplugged and prefer listening to only acoustic as well. Wow I said acoustic alot 😆🤣

Man I miss all the great albums that I was introduced to in the 90’s, but Ten?! That is a special one. Ten is like an old friend, one that you may not speak to for years, but by chance you run across each other and are instantly reminded of great memories of your childhood.

That guitar you were unsure of is called a Resonator Guitar. The sound made by the steel resonator is a fat sound with crisp high end.

Cam Cole. He plays acoustic guitar, sings and drums with his feet. NOT a cheesy 1 man band. He's freaking awesome. If you like the blues even a little, you'll LOVE Cam. Lord knows I do. Away and Tattoo Rings are his best songs, imo, but his whole 1st album is the bomb
