I rented an older picanto in the UK for three weeks driving around. Had so much fun it it, just drove with my foot floored trying to conserve momentum.

Can confirm it is a very long time between turns in a Toyota Echo at Phillip Island. Great Review of what will be a future Nugget Nationals car!

It wouldn't take much to turn this into a fun little car. A nice 15inch tyre and wheel setup, coilovers, and better pads. Instant, cheap track day fun!

I have the 2019 model. I put a bluespark tuning box, thorttle controller and coil over springs the mods cost me just under $1000 and has turned the car in to a pocket rocket.

Pretty sure the wheels are 16 inch with 195/45r16 tyres. Stock they come with Nexen blue tyres which are a economy tyre. Not a huge range of tyre choices but there are a few good ones. They don't make the Michelin PS4 in that size but they still make the old PS3 in that size and is still available. As well as the primacy 4 Other good UHP tyres you can get in that size if anyone is wondering is the Kuhmo Ecsta HS51 and HS52, the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo, the Maxxis HP5, Yokohama Fleva V701 and for a track tyre that's street legal Yokohama actually make the Advan A052 in this size which would be the perfect tyre to put on if your going to be doing this kind of driving.

A $695 RaceChip will give you instant access to 98kws and 228nms. No brainer really..

What about the Swift Sport? It’s under a tonne (975kg, I think) with around 250Nm and a 6-speed manual. Would be good to see how it compares on the leaderboard.

The kia picanto gt is under tuned from the factory with a tuning box it can be good for 105kw and 235nm. I have a blue spark in my 2019 gt and only have done the mild mod 98kw 230nm and the car is fast for a micro hatch. The Suzuki my favourite car the sports turbo with a tuning box would be easy 120kw 280nm.

Look out GR Yaris, there's another 3 cylinder boost meister turbo charger equipped manual GT specification hot hatch burning that same elusive liquid "Gas" an eBay chip, an a sticker kit, and it'll out perform that Yaris down the quarter mile.

I have my 19 Picanto with a throttle controller and a blue spark tuning box it's got 98kw 230 nm torque just turns into micro car hot hatch. Very fast I got for a micro car 0 100 in 7.8 seconds.

There's no comparison. This Picanto has 99HP and gets to 62 in 9.9 secs, the Ignis (at least the one available in the UK) has 83 HP and takes a yawning 12.7 secs. The Ignis is also a bit cheap in the cabin whereas the Picanto's cabin is pretty nice.
