Never thought I'd say Kia would have an attractive SUV in a million years!

The front end looks Great! I like the Sorento's whole design. Im with you on the Interior vents. shape doesn't fit.. Or maybe there needs to be one single on each side of the Touch screen? An American viewer here. Our Sorentos are built in the US in the same facility that builds the Telluride. The massive demand for the Telluride and more recently the disruption associated with the COVID-19 virus in the US (Not nearly as well handled as it has been in Korea.) has resulted in a delay in the introduction of the new Sorento until sometime in the fall so your reviews of the Korean version are especially welcome. My family owns a 2018 Sorento that replaced a 2012 model. It's my wife's daily driver and the "road tripper" for our family of four (Two adults, a teenager, and a big dog.) For us, it's a "Goldilocks" vehicle, seating up to seven (for local trips) in what in the US is labelled a "midsize" SUV that's significantly more compact (189" long) than its midsize rivals. Unfailingly reliable, just like its predecessor, my wife LOVES it. So much so that if I suggested replacing it I'd probably have to pry her cold dead fingers off the steering wheel. And though my daily driver is a VW GTI, I agree it's a great vehicle for its intended mission. Nevertheless, here are a few observations about the new generation. Our current Sorento has the 3.3L V6 petrol engine that's a naturally aspirated version of the engine in the KIA Stinger and Genesis G70. It's a fine, relatively under-stressed engine that delivers power smoothly and in a linear fashion. We won't see the diesel engine in the US and the V6 will be replaced by a 2.5L turbo 4 cylinder that's apparently the same engine found in the base version of the Genesis GV80. Initially I found that somewhat disappointing since the Sorento is a heavy vehicle and I'm inclined to feel that a six cylinder NA engine is especially well suited to midsize SUV's. But I'm somewhat reassured that the new turbo4 is the same as found in the Genesis SUV. And with KIA's excellent warranty I suspect it will be a durable power plant. In addition it's likely to offer better fuel economy than the older V6, an area that has typically been a challenge for KIA (and Hyundai) vehicles as well as peppier performance than the V6. I'll withhold judgement but I'm cautiously optimistic about the 2.5L turbo engine. Finally, on the issue of fuel economy it appears the US will see the hybrid version of the Sorento. That's especially rare in the midsize SUV category where the Toyota Highlander and the Ford Explorer are the only options here in the US. I'm betting it will be an especially popular version of the Sorento assuming it's available. A few other points. I can't be sure but it appears that KIA has improved access and possibly improved room in the third row of seats. Our Sorento limits access to the passenger side of vehicle. KIA claimed it was an intentional restriction in the interest of safety but frankly it's inconvenient. If the new Sorento enables access from both sides it will be a significant improvement. Once in the rear seats, the current Sorento is surprisingly generous in terms of space. (Legroom, for example, is 31.7" compared to the Telluride's 31.4"). But I believe the new generation enables a passenger to recline the third row seat. If that's the case, it should improve the seating for tall passengers. One feature I haven't seen demonstrated in the 2021 Sorento is the ability to lock the center differential and provide 50/50 power to the front and rear wheels. The Sorento isn't intended to be an off-road rock crawler but the 50/50 torque split is VERY useful in adverse winter conditions. We don't get much snow here in the Pacific Northwest but in an unusual blizzard I was able to get my Sorento unstuck on a challenging hill while other SUV's sat at the bottom by locking the center differential and proceeding without an issue. I'm hoping that feature hasn't been eliminated in the new generation. One minor surprise I noted in the video was the Sorento's self-parking feature that can be activated remotely. It's admittedly something of a gimmick but the new Hyundai Sonata has generated major buzz with the same feature and I haven't seen it mentioned in reference to the Sorento. I suspect it will be a similar reaction if it's available in the US version. All in all, an excellent review of an excellent vehicle. One of the most impressive aspects of KIA's designs is their attention to customer requests and implement improvements even within a generation. I suspect the new generation Sorento to be a hit once it's available in the US.

Honestly I'd rather have the diesel than the hybrid. Easier system to work with and my miles are mostly highway so not much the hybrid can improve for that.

Like the front , integrated, smooth. Like the ride hieght , the rear, well has some interesting shapes, the chrome insert on the side? The interior caters to all needs, thoughtful as Kia does, is the volume a manual dial,? The air vents!! yeesh , very edsell vintage, need to re- think those! Like this SUV, it has matured and has a clear identity, the diesel makes it a flexible highway cruiser, hope we can do more of that soon. Stay well young man, stay free.

A omplete review. Now that's how a proper car review is done. To the very detail such as front/rear lights, horn, wireless, accessories, transmission, etc. Personally, I love how the car looks in and out but what I don't like is DCT transmission. In my opinion, DCT is okay for long distances however I feel its unreliable for stop and go traffic especially, in smaller countries where roads are typically congested. I'd prefer the traditional auto with a torque converter and or even a CVT over a DCT anytime of the day. Hope Kia will introduce different transmission for different region of the world. And yes, I rarely subscribe to KZfaq channels but bcos of the complete review this channel has been subscribed! Good job and keep it up.

I like the air vents. Even the split design as you can direct small amound of air to your waist and the bigger vent to the top.
