The reveal that the narrator is Homer genuinely caught me off-guard when I first played this sequence

It was actually hinted in the first game when you purchase the bust of him to put into the House of Hades. Though it takes a lot of playing through the game to get to that point. I actually laughed a little when they finally fully address him in this game, I was not expecting them to do that at the beginning. Lol Though you do see Skelly being called by his real name Schelemeus in the beginning of this game, and that's also something you don't discover until far enough into Hades 1. It seems like SuperGiant assumed the cat is out of the bag with most of the secrets in Hades 1, so the thought might as well let that carry over.
@da3m0nic_7912 күн бұрын
@@GawainW isn't that whole Schelemeus thing a lie? Skelly does freak out when he discovers that Mel can fully understand Charon, which is because he could let Mel in on the truth that Skelly is not who he seems to be and is pretending.

@@francesmcginn5850 To be fair, Persephone had a lot of fondness for Nyx, even saying she missed her (and Cerberus) the most while on the surface. On the other hand we don't know if she and Hecate had much of a friendship before this all happened. Even still, I don't think she would be angry so much as a bit melancholic about it. She'd be glad that Melinoë still got to have a mother raise her, but this is the second time she's been robbed (so to speak) of that experience.

This but unironically, Hypnos could put the entirety of the house of Hades to sleep as shown in H1 and in mythology he was able to do the same with Zeus (with the aid of Hera). It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that Hypnos could do the same to Chronos (or at least his followers).

@@ThePoshboy1 I like the theory that Hypnos is asleep because he's keeping something else at bay within the dream world, or something like that. Maybe the other Titans that'd similarly have an axe to grind with Olympus? However, it is a wonder how Hypnos wasn't present when Chronos took over the House of Hades. Is it explained how that happened?

Hecate: "I'm not your mother" From this scene, sounds like she's trying to convince herself rather than telling Melinoe off
@korsekil24 күн бұрын
Yeah, she has a lot of respect for Persephone, but much like Nyx was basically Zagreus' foster mother, Hecate is Melinoe's. Honestly kinda messed up that poor Persephone doesn't get to watch both her kids grow up.
@somenerdpng18 күн бұрын
@@korsekil Yeah Persophone really got shafted, her first child dies in her arms and she thinks hes dead until many years later. Then after finally reconnecting with her family and son, she has a daughter, only to be frozen in statis and miss all those years again.

This reading of her line really got to me (in a good way). As a single, infertile woman trying to adopt, I can confirm this is something I regularly have to remind myself of. I really hope her character's story expands to reflect this interpretation.
