Chips in the United States are thin crispy potato slices fried with salt on top, which is the only version they know of. Otherwise known as Crisps in England I believe? Chips in the United Kingdom are thick and fluffy potato slices, otherwise known as French fries in the United States. Sorry if this is inaccurate.

They should of explained a Cornish pasty was made for miners so the crust side was for dirty hands but it had an entire meal inside and they did also do sweet ones.

In all fairness, the freshly made ones you buy at a proper vendor look much more appetizing. Other than that, what's not to love? Pastry, meat, veg, gravy. What more could one ask for? lol, kids are spoiled if they can't stomach that

So the Cornish pasty was created for miners. It had a thick pastry handle so that they could eat the pasty and filling with dirty hands and not worry about consuming coal dust. It's changed alot now but a traditional one will still have the handle which is literally just pastry.
