Tim and I escape the insanity of COVID to enter the utter madness of endless bugs, creaks of hell, never ending portaging, and pure exhaustion on one heck of a trip.

Really enjoyed this. Your recollection of the days was impressive. You did a nice job of telling the story despite losing your footage. And I'm with you,. I'll take the creek travel over a portage any day. Cheers

Thank you, this losing footage will be a learning opportunity. I'll be taking Tim again especially if he wants to carry my pack and let me paddle with an empty canoe... he is a good guy to have around.

Nathan great video! I'm thinking of doing a trip in October solo. It would involve the day 4 stretch you guys did but in reverse. Is this a bad idea? The portage/creek in between little mountain and three narrows. Thanks !

Thanks. I don't think it is a bad idea. If anything you might have the westerly winds in your favour across Three Narrows. The portages I feel will be about the same challenge either way you go, as I didn't find them to be downhill one way you are climbing over what felt like2 mountain ranges, so I didn't find there to be an easier way to go. I would suggest depending on how you are travelling, and the wind, maybe avoid the portages around York. and paddle the long way. Such as if maybe you are using a double blade for speed paddle it, but if you are single carrying portages sure take the york lake way be quicker. I don't think I'd go back to York personally my self. But you never know. Cheers and have a good trip the fall colours will be wonderful.

@@prayfornathannatureshow I just finished a 10 day solo doing a good bit of what u did. That long way around three narrows is a beautiful paddle. i stayed at the campsite on the point when you come from that long 3 km portage from Killarney Lake. Some guys gave me a ice cold beer after my portage. in the morning I paddled up toward great mountain a bit before going back to my route out to mcgregor bay.
