I'm addicted to 12rep sets after warm up then when I'm only able to get 8- 10 I do a drop where I go down 20lbs and crank out 7 more..I'm wondering if I'm not training as heavy as I should..I love the pump I get but am I giving up results?..

What James said was profound. “The key to failure isn’t when you can’t no longer move the weight. It’s when you break form.” 100% on point especially when you’re training alone.

Supporting what you are saying here about not going all the way down with the barbell, my ortho doctor tells me not to let my hands go so low that they move out of peripheral view with my head against the bench neutrally. That's a visual cue I use to measure the depth at the bottom end.

I start with 6 sets of dumbbell incline (3 sets light and 3 sets as heavy as I can) 8 to 12 reps, 5 sets of dumbbell bench (heavy) 8 to 10 reps, 5 sets of dips 10 to 12 reps, then end with 5 sets of as many diamond pushups as I can do....stretching with a band every 2 or three sets of each exercise.

The pattern is very smart 1 - hard contraction/muscle activation based warmup 2 - explosive/heavy compound lift 3 - high intensity technique exercise like dropsets for example 4 - big strecth exercise I could definitely see this being useful for even strength. Like on my squat day I could follow this formula with the compound lift being the squat (duh) and doing something leg extensions w/ a dropset finishing with long stride walking lunges. For strength I'd probably just do less sets after the squats
