I gotta say, I'm really happy you're putting up these videos. I train in Shanghai and yeah, I meet people from all over and you have to interact with others. I can't just put my headphones in and exist in a vacuum. And you're right about it being a totally different work out. I still sweat more when I run (never been great at long distance cardio) but rolling works all those little muscles I sometimes don't hit when I weightlift. The beauty is in the struggle, and I think everyone in the bjj community understands that. Thanks and keep going on the videos! I'll check out your other ones too!

Thanks so much for the support and for watching !! That's so cool that you train in Shanghai, i'm alllll the way in NY lol. But yes, jiu jitsu is the best because you can meet so many people from all around the world!

So good, thank you!! And it’s true - nothing has transformed my body like jujitsu has! It’s the work out of all of work outs 😆🙌

I'm a crossfitter who loves kettlbells, oly lifting but Ive been out of the box since covid started and have been training at home alone. I'm now thinking about trying jiujitsu. One of the rerasons is the 'out of my head' thing.

Thank you for all your videos, you're so inspiring! I love the people I roll with, and it truly is the best workout, never sweated so much in my life. How do you keep from getting winded quickly? That's my biggest challenge so far, breathing while on my back in mount.
@kimberlykinch2 жыл бұрын
I'm so happy that they've been helpful!! The more you train, the better your cardio will get :) But I still get winded, I just try to control my pace and control my breathe.

Curious about something. You talked about what it’s like to know you can escape. You didn’t talk about the competitive aspect of it in terms of winning, just basically about not losing. Do you get any joy out of submitting someone?
@kimberlykinch3 жыл бұрын
A lot! Lol. Hard work goes into getting the submission.

@@kimberlykinch Lol! I got a little in my left ear once after a hectic class drilling triangle escapes. Fortunately my Sensei's uncle is a doctor who actually knows how to treat it with a syringe and saline solution, rather than most doctors who have no idea what to do and who start making silly noises about prescribing drugs. Eeeeediots! (Don't even get me started on allopathic quacks. I avoid them like the plague! :)
@kimberlykinch2 жыл бұрын
The majority of doctors have never heard of jiu jitsu so it’s hard getting treated without them looking at you like a crazy person 🙄 ESPECIALLY during this time we’re living in..

@@kimberlykinch Tell me about it! 🤦♂️ The whole situation is BEYOND embarrassing. In a Kafkaesque world the jokes write themselves 🤪 Fortunately, there's jits to keep me grounded...well...matted anyway 😂👊

@@kimberlykinch i really like it a lot everyone is super nice and supportive I’m glad I get to be with kids my age I 16btw. I’m still getting used to drilling with men but I think I’ll get used to it it’s not the worst thing it’s just weird being super close with them but soon once I get to know them better I’ll be fine. I haven’t rolled yet though I’ve just been drilling do you have any tips on rolling for the first time?like mental preparation-tips?🙂

Haha as much as I loved the video just gota be that guy..... Lol jujitsu the best exercise you will ever experience? Try judo. Throw your 200lb partner 50 times in a session then spar ground and throws. After that you feel like death is on its way lol.
@kimberlykinch2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I meant it more so along the lines of your standard exercise routine or typical sport.. I'm sure judo is no joke. :)
