I feel like this video is going to change my life! Finally a neck STRENGTHENING video that is all about building needed supportive muscles instead of always just stretching and easing pain...many people do not realize, if they strengthen the sources of their pain, they won't need to constantly be stretching or easing them.

The only thing I would add for when you're lying down on your back doing the exercises, is that you should have a folded up towel under your head IF you have a rounded upper back, or hyperkyphosis, which a lot of people have. If you have hyperkyphosis, or hunchback, your head will naturally tilt back on the floor with your chin pointing more up toward the ceiling...you want to avoid this for proper form. Most people who have head forward carriage, they also have hunchback posture...so you have to adjust behind your head to make sure your head doesn't tilt back while you're lying down. Hope that made sense..lol

Thank you 🙏 By watching this video and testing it out I just realised I have a neck stabiliser that’s stronger than the other and is probably helping create added pain to my previous sore neck muscles. And also I didn’t think to twist my head to put tension on the same muscle from a different angle . Legend thank you .

I'm going to try these, I like them. Doing some other exercises recommended on physiotherapy, but looking for different for diversion or better results. A question, though. Should we stretch before or after strengthening exercises? It always confused me. Also, with deformities in neck vertebraes which are causing the whole back to ache, after what point of continuous exercising the pain subsides? I've been exercising for a month now and I feel inflamed every day. I see the progress in my body, but the pain stays the same. 😢 I'm even considering the corticosteroid shot because this is awful, I'm constantly aware of my neck and my back being in dull, stiff and inflamed pain whatever I do. It's pretty disheartening.

Thank you for sharing your experience, @jas2429. While I appreciate your feedback and questions, I must emphasize that I cannot provide specific advice without conducting a physical examination. Difficulty with movement, like you're describing, can be due to various reasons, and it's best addressed with a healthcare provider who can assess your condition directly. Isn't isotonic exercise useless and shortening as we think about sthrenghtening and prolongating the muscle? Thank you
@kinetichealthonline
@kinetichealthonline 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ginny177: Many exercises have both a concentric and eccentric components. "In a concentric contraction, the muscle tension rises to meet the resistance then remains stable as the muscle shortens. During eccentric contraction, the muscle lengthens as the resistance becomes greater than the force the muscle is producing." An Isotonic exercise is when a contracting muscle shortens against a constant load, in this case the weight is your head as you bring it up. The eccentric component is when you bring the head down. So no a isotonic exercise is not useless, especially when combined with a isometric component. Cheers!
