Kept you waiting, huh?
This is the first time I ever beat Demi-Fiend on DDS! Overall, I feel like I played pretty well. However, I'm aware that I got very lucky in this video.
TESTING
I did test on Megidolaon, Death Files, and Celestial Ray to see which is better. And the conclusion I came up with, is that Celestial Ray is better. Death Files did Decent damage, but Celestial Ray seem to do a bit more. Also, Death Files seemed to miss often.
CELESTIAL RAY & LAST WORD
Celestial Ray does around 700 damage, with Debilitate and Mind Charge. However, I also need to do damage to just Demi-Fiend, because Celestial Ray will kill Demi-Fiend's party with just a few hits. If I just spammed Celestial Ray, I would have to deal with Gaea Rage more often then desired. So that's where Last Word comes in. It does less damage then Celestial Ray, but there's not much I can do about that. With Debilitate and Mind Charge it does around 500 damage.
THE STRATEGY
PHASE 1: Cu Chulainn & Girimehkala
Damage to Demi-Fiend.
LW x4 = 2000
CR x4 = 2800
Total: 4800
On party turns that I attack, I try to time it with Cu Chulainn Taunt spam. So Cu Chulainn and Girimehkala use Dekaja and Dekunda (I always use Debilitate before attacking). That's mainly to avoid Mamudoon, and Cu Chulainn follow up attack, if he managed to get two Taunts off. However, sometimes it will happen anyway, because Demi-Fiends crits often. But MOST of the time it works out. Anyways, Mamudoon, and Javelin Rain are the main issue here.
Cu Chulainn and Girimehkala, need to be killed at the same time. Debilitate is needed to do that, otherwise Cu Chulainn will die and Girimehkala will survive the fourth Celestial Ray.
PHASE 2: Pixie & Arahabaki
Damage to Demi-Fiend.
LW x3 = 1500
CR x4 = 2800
Total: 4300
PH 1 + PH 2 = 9100
Pixie will mainly spam Megidolaon, until she gets low on health. When that happens, she will spam Maziodyne, Vanity, and Diarama. Pixie can be a problem, but Arahabaki is the main issue. He can really bog down the damage process. Mainly with Gate Of Hell and Debilitate, which he seems to use at the most inconvenient times. Also with Demi-Fiends constant Javelin Rain spam can make it far worse.
Pixie will die with 3 hits from Celestial Ray, if you catch her before she starts spamming Diarama. After that, Demi-Fiend will summon Titania. At that point the fourth Celestial Ray will finish off Arahabaki, officially ending phase 2 and putting Demi-Fiend under half health. Demi-Fiend will summon Parvati, then Titania will use Mediarahan.
Demi-Fiend has 18000 HP, but when he goes under half health, he will be healed. So realistically, he has 27000 HP. Which is why I really test my luck at the beginning to get the Mediarahan out of the way.
PHASE 3: Parvati & Titania
LW x2 = 1000
CR x3 or 4 = 2100 or 2800
Total: Hard to tell, and doesn't matter. After getting the Mediarahan out of the way, I kinda slow down the damage process, and start only using two Last Word in each phase. This is a new addition to my strat, to prevent from getting bogged down, and running out off time. This was my forth attempt doing this, but this is the only attempt where I passed the first and second phases.
Titania mostly spams Magic (which can cause problems), and Debuffs. Parvati is worse, mainly using Buffs, Mediarama, and god forbid Mahamaon. If she uses Mahamaon and it lands, Demi-Fiend can kill. Spamming Debilitate can distract her, but sometimes she is difficult to keep in check. Her Mediarama spam can really screw things up as well, making the phase last longer then desired. Potentially, run ending.
After finishing off Parvati and Titania ends phase 3, ends cycle 1, and starts 2. Which means starting back over with Cu Chulainn and Girimehkala. Like I said, from this point I will only use Last Word two times in each phase, unless I feel like I can get away with more. After getting through Phase 1 2 ,and 3 again, ends cycle 2. The start of cycle 3 should be where it ends.
