The Big Apple is again besieged by the monstrous King Kong. Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange star in this ambitious remake of the 1933 original, which adds a great deal of camp and good fun to the story. Again, the gargantuan ape battles attacking aircraft high above the streets of New York, this time plunging from the top of the World Trade Center to his death amidst thousands of horrified onlookers. King Kong won an Oscar for special effects, and the horror and the thrills are brought anew to another generation.

This movie always had 2 star rating in tv guide and I never understood what the critics' problem was with it. I thought it was a great film as a kid and I still do

Same. As a kid I loved it. But I also love the original and the like visuals aren’t as good as I remember as a kid. Still love it tho.

Even after all that Jessica has done in her great career, this is the film that I’ll always remember her most fondly for. Such a timelessly sad love story. 💓

For 1976 this was a powerful scene and movie. I was 9 years old when I saw this movie in the cinema. I was captivated by the beauty and intensity of this movie. I felt a deep sadness for Kong. I knew he would meet a terrible demise. It's a very sad movie actually. Probably why I'm an animal activist.

I was 8, and I remember feeling so sad at the end. Still a sad watch now, especially seeing the beautiful World Trade centre in all its glory. This is the best Kong movie to date in my humble opinion.

A pesar de un papel en el cual ella se la pasó gritando, se pensaba no podría hacer mejores actuaciones y demostró que se equivocaron. Es una de las menores actrices de su tiempo.

Heureusement que Rick Baker a été la pour faire king Kong car le robot n'a jamai pu faire un pas devant l'autre dans le film on le voi que quelques seconde dans la cage . Un remake raté .

@@marcdelente2456 and Naomi Watts gives a really good performance. she is perfect and truly beautiful. No wonder Kong fell in love her. So, Naomi Watts conveys the bond and emotions between Ann and Kong very well. Ann watching Kong carefully to understand him and seeing his reactions, and Ann's moments of empathizing with Kong were really good. That's why the final scene hits us so hard. Ann and Kong's desperation at that point is very sad. This scene is the exact equivalent of the phrase "nothing can be done"

@@marcdelente2456 Yes, that's a good scene too, but I like the moment when Ann arrives in New York while Kong is angry and confused. Ann's influence on Kong is excellent. Kong is angry and confused but when Ann arrives calms him down and he is stop. Also, only Ann can touch Kong, and that's the power of love. ❤ So Ann could have helped get Kong out of the city, he didn't have to die. 🥺
