I personally love it when they make huge and intimidating pokemon do cute things. Like when Kingambit tries it’s absolute hardest not to break the bowl on the table and you see it shaking its arms are is such awww moment. It’s also nice to have episodes where the big scary Pokémon can have the time to be friendly and adorable.

I don’t see this as filler. As you said, this is a good setup for Dot’s upcoming battle against Larry. We need to see this more assertive and confident Dot to feel like she’ll give a great battle against him, given that she’s taking on a member of the Elite 4 all by herself for the first time.

One thing I'm kinda curious about is that the before more clientele finally came into the restaurant near the end of the episode, the Anything Eatery said that they got very few customers. Two of which they said as: "a bone-tired office worker/salaryman" in which they were referring to Larry AND "adventure guy;" makes me wonder with that description of their other customer-regular as to Who they're referring to???

I like how Kingambit was basically like a son for that older couple. By the way, It's possible for this episode to have a reference to the episode where Liko found Hattena. Specifically to the part where Friede mentions that he once went to eat to a place were a couple was having a marital spat and that it ended up spoiling his appetite.

I love, how Kingambit just floats in the air instead of walking or making his hair move. I really like how this episode was focused about Dot and her upcoming trial and how she uses her Nidothing experience to market this restaurant and understanding how that Kingambit is the heart of it. She really came a long way since the beginning of HZ. From the side character to literally the third protagonist and as important as Liko and Roy (or at least as important Friede and Amethio). Certainly a massive step up from Chloe, who was just there for every non-Chloe episode.

Although, there was nothing major in this episode, but we can finally see, how far Dot has come. We already knew, she had the best character development, but seeing it implemented felt different. Dot didn't feel like the Dot we witnessed at the time of her debut, a rude shut in introvert. She didn't even back off from battling due to the crowd. I genuinely loved it. And I loved that scene with Larry. They represented his character so well. Even Sidian felt awesome, I love how he values honour so much. And that subtle hint towards this being the same eatery mentioned back by Friede in episode 21, the details in Horizons are just mind-blowing.

@@Aditya17-v3p yeah They make her a rude brat to Ash despite him having done nothing to deserve it, they deny her of a galarian ponyta that she went out of her way to befriend, they give her the most useless Eevee in anime history, they interrupt the masters eight to focus on her only for it to lead to nothing, she was barely even there, and what is more, Chloe was a complete hypocrite. She said she wanted nothing to do with being a researcher like her dad despite everyone expecting it of her, and what does she do? The very thing she rejected. Like what was the point of trying to find her own path when she didn't even succeed in sticking to anything she tried? No point, that's what Chloe was a failed experiment from the start and the series would have been better without her

Armorouge in Scarlet or Ceruledge in Violet 5. Baxcalibur 6. Kingambit (Ace) See way better am I right. While Geeta’s team in the Indigo Disk dlc was better I have to admit Dragapult & Chesnaught felt random. This team is very type diverse which 8 like to have on any Pokémon team, like Kingambit alone with fully power Supreme Overlord could honestly give Cynthia’s Garchomp a run for its money

In Pokémon Scarlet I have a shiny Kingambit what's one of the best Pokémon in my Party so it's always nice to see Kingambit in Pokémon Anime, i'm interested to see when people figured it out there are Explorers secretly in their schools I believe Liko, Roy, Dot and even almost Penny has relized that and about of Pikachu as the Pokémon Mascot Pikachu has always been and will always be the BIGGEST and the best Pokémon Mascot, but I like how Liko's Sprigatito felt at the start to be like the Pokémon Mascot of Pokémon Horizons and I want to believe Sprigatito is the next mascot of Pokémon! 😊❤

A very solid episode with good character moments and nice set-up. The only thing that was missing was seeing Kingambit actually battle. All that talk about its brute force and it didn't even use a single move in the episode? I would have loved to see it battle against Sidian's Garganacl, even though I know it wouldn't have made any sense. Sidian challenged Dot, after all. Anyway, I can't wait to see Dot versus Larry and Quaxly's evolution. I have a feeling the battle might go either way. I've said it before and I'll say it again - a Pokémon winning a battle simply because it suddenly evolves and gets an unrealistic power boost is cheap writing, but I might be willing to overlook it if it happens this time. So far, the battles in Horizons have (mostly) been far more sensible than the ones in Ash's era, and the writers seem to understand how Pokémon can bring out their best in tough matches without resorting to asspulls. So, if Dot wins in a way that doesn't make her look bad, great. If she loses, that's fine, because she still gets a Quaxwell. I don't think Tinkatink will put up much of a fight, but after all this time and training, I know Quaxly will give us a great show.

Yeah... You make a good point about how much dot has grown and i guess it is a nice lead in to the battle ahead, but aside from that, it kinda is just filler to a large extent. It was a solid debut for Kimgambit tho

Funny Fox, you think anyone can replace Pikachu as the mascot of the anime. Even when Ash's Pikachu left, they use Captain Pikachu as their new mascot of the series. No one is replacing Pikachu, except maybe Watchdog.

Yep, that's true. Another news, they will be taking another break after the episode on 26th. So, the 59th episode will air on 26th July and 60th will be airing on 9th August. It is just their usual two week break at the middle of the arc. It's not anything special. But yes that's for sure, that this battle could be well animated.

The arc begins, then a 2 week break, then another 10 to 12 episodes and another 2 week break follows it, for the beginning of the next arc. It feels odd, but when I think about the breaks back in Journeys, in the later part, it still feels better..

The office worker is obviously Larry, but the adventurer guy? The only existing character that matches that description is Arven, so we'll be meeting him soon enough or later on?
