The more I work on this whole project, the more interesting it gets. Since when I started with the x portion of the series, I've always wondered how it would feel watching the beginning of Sora's adventure and, at the same time, dealing with Aqua in the Realm of Darkness, right after we've closely experienced what she's been through in her own main adventure.
What you get is a different feeling.
You feel closer to Aqua, you can see her eternal struggle, alone and unconscious of her best friends' fates, whilst Sora is playing and living his happy life. This is one of the main key points of the entire project that could only be fully felt if you've watched all of the previous episodes in such a pattern.
The pattern for this series is being developed in the making of it. I do have some things kept in my mind for future parts, but most of this project is growing as time goes by and I'm just following my instinct.
My mind automatically sets a lot of events across all the games in what should be their exact place.
This kind of work is extremely enlightening to me as it allows me to keep control of the saga's biggest secrets and connections, as well as helping me improve both my style and capability of organizing so much stuff at once.
The most interesting challenge was covering the time between the end of Birth by Sleep and the beginning of the first Kingdom Hearts. That time began in Episode 32 and finishes here in Episode 33, and I can say it turned out pretty good. After watching all of the previous episodes, we can all agree on how smoothless the transition between Birth by Sleep and the first Kingdom Hearts is. Yes, we're getting to know another hero, but without losing track of a character we've been following since Episode 12. And we'll stay by her side until the end of this game.

KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is an incredibly massive project I've been wanting to do forever. The only thing that was stopping me from actually working on it was the still-incomplete plot of the χ[chi] portion of the whole saga, which is also the most confusing one. However, I did want to deliver this before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3, so we could have the perfect road to the final chapter of the Xehanort saga at our disposal and relive, together, all of the chapters in a definitive and never-seen-before way.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is, in fact, different by any other playthroughs or projects around because it is composed of all the Kingdom Hearts titles released so far placed in chronological order. Beware - the events are actually settled chronologically.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE doesn't want to be a simple movie made of cutscenes. If It were to be like that, there wouldn't be anything special about it. This project actually started as a playthrough, giving, of course, priority to story content.
Sitting and watching a 25 minutes video made of cutscenes we've been watching for a decade is just as boring as anything else. Gameplay bits have been thoughtfully placed to make sure you won't fall asleep when watching, giving their contribute for a more immersive experience.
Finding the right balance is not easy and not always possible -due to countless technical restrictions related to music, episode length and such- just as it's not easy having everyone thinking alike. Of course, I can't make everyone happy, but I did want to point this out.
Lastly, I want you guys to know that the amount of effort being put for this is massive. There are countless hours of work and dedication I've spent (and still spending) for this, for something we all love and care about. My channel is, after all, always been made of this - content that will grant you one of the best levels of knowledge and enjoyment of the Kingdom Hearts saga - and, as much as it's stressful having to translate every Japanese Union χ [Cross] episode, I still do that to deliver the latest story updates of the saga for you.
My main goal is working as much professionally as I can and add details where normally people wouldn't add. Not liking a content is totally fine, whereas insulting and posting offensive comment is not. There is nothing worse than spending your own time to show dedication for something we all love and see offensive reactions coming back at you. For this whole project to be completed, suggestions and questions coming from fans are well accepted and needed. Things are gonna be very interesting. Anyway I always wondered about who was the voice in Sora's dream and at the end of Kingdom Hearts. At first I thought that it was Mickey's, but then I realize that probably it was Ventus. I've also thought that the voice was not one but more, the pricesses's voices, but since Sora at the end of Kingdom Hearts and before to fight Ansem, he said that he's hearing a voice that already knows, so I guess it was Ventus all along

That part where Xigbar was talking about The Chamber of Waking and you briefly flashed to Ventus was BRILLIANT. God, I love this shit so much. Also, I know Nomura has stated that Mickey is supposed to be the voice speaking to Sora in the Dive to the Heart. But given how we've just witnessed all the prior events leading up to this moment, it really doesn't make sense. Mickey has NO idea who Sora is at this point, how could he be speaking to him? It really does make much more logical sense if the mysterious voice guiding Sora is Ventus.

I think... Keyblade Master can sometimes speak with other Keyblade Wielders in other places... I mean, Master Xehanort did it with Terra a few times. Mickey was searching a Key, probably he thought there was only one left in the Realm of Light. So Mickey tried to reach the "bearer of the Key" but contacted Sora instead of Riku (and then I explain the default Keychain of Sora's Keyblade that is a Mickey Head, given that it was him that helped Sora to gain his Keyblade). But I agree that this is wild speculation sooo... take it with a grain of salt

After watching this episode, I had an insane headcanon. If Nomura ever retcons his own interview answer, I would hope the truth is something like this instead: KH1's intro has Sora saying he's been having weird thought(s) lately. Plural! As the player, we went through the Dive into the Heart once, but it might've been more often for Sora. What else has been happening often, according to this episode? Xemnas has been going to the Chamber, and speaking to a "friend". But Briag says Xemnas is the only one in there. Xemnas' talks are either related to Aqua finding Terra in the Dark World, or they're a way to reach out to Ventus in The Other Chamber. But since Ven's heart is in Sora, Sora comes across these as his weird thoughts. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The point of The Dive isn't Mickey training Sora, it's Terra guiding Ventus through recovery and learning to fight again. As the holder of Ven's heart, Sora's kindhearted light got him mixed up in all of it as a fluke, so he couldn't comprehend any of what was happening. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When Terra used to train Ventus in his weaker days, Ven would use a fake weapon instead of a real Keyblade, just like Sora is here. As Sora goes further along, Ventus thinks about his own adventure and what he's capable of (until the Belle painting, which I can't explain).

I've definitely been enjoying these last few episodes. They feel like the start of a new season of a TV show. Seeing this transition from BBS to KH1 is simply amazing. It's just so satisfying seeing these cutscenes spread across multiple games appear in a chronological order. Incredible work Everglow!

I wouldn't say it feels like it's starting a new season. It feels more like an anime that's transitioning to a new arc, which is generally much more seamless.

I’m really happy that you lost to Riku at the start. Adds to the rivalry. On my first playthrough when I was younger, I lost to Riku countless times and it just made me want to kick his ass even more. Love it, good work Everglow.

How did Original Marluxia make his way into the past when the events of Unchained Key were happening? Marluxia should not be there, at the keyblade graveyard.

Actually If I remember correctly Zexion was supposed to be second in command on the organization. Axel killed him in Castle Oblivion not because he was a traitor but in order for Saix to rise and become second in command in placenof Zexion who was branded traitor from Axel therefore justifying him killing Zexion.

That's true. Both Masters disappeared while their six apprentices seemingly fell in darkness. Each time a new group emerged and got company from a scary man with pink hair.

It took 33 episodes, but we made it to the original game. The beginning of KH1 always gets to me. It's my favorite tutorial of any video game; the choir, the rose stained glass pillars, having an ominous person ask you about yourself and telling you not to be afraid while guiding you through fighting shadowy monsters followed by seeing three friends getting psyched to go on an adventure. Takes me back to Christmas of 2002. Oh, and nice touch on the flashbacks of Ventus and Terra for Sora and Riku.

KeybladeWXV that's a really really good catch. I was just trying to work out the real reason that we the players see that cutscene and why braig was so eager to talk to ienzo and the implications because it always seemed so random to me

@@FreemanzzFilms It's a quaint conversation, especially since 1) Xigbar/Luxu poses it like a question that Xehanort was "found" by Ansem, even though Xigbar is literally the one who brought Ansem to Terranort and 2) Xigbar seems curious about who Xemnas talks to, even though he's the one who brought Aqua's armor to Ansem the Wise too. I chalk it up to mostly Nomura not having it planned out properly, though a fair reading could be that Xigbar is trying to mess with Ienzo/Zexion for some reason. If so, why? Ienzo is another kid with a mysterious past brought to Ansem like Kairi that we know little about.

Oh my gosh that flash to VENTUS during the Chamber talk was amazing! :o It will help people watching these to catch up and get some more clarity about what the two chambers hold. :) :) Also it reminded me of KH2's intro where Roxas keeps having those flickering TV image dreams about Sora.

The timing of the scenes (especially Aqua’s) is perfect, it shows the constant attention of Everglow towards details. During “Dive to the Heart”, we see Snowhite’s pillar first: she’s asleep, meaning she’s already been captured by Maleficent (infact during the game it is possibile to discover she is captured right before Alice), while the dwarfs are still awake, meaning their world has not fallen yet to the darkness. Therefore, the fact Aqua reaches Castle of Dreams in the World of Darkness shortly before Sora’s dream makes perfect sense, since she’ll arrive in the Dwarf Woodlands later. La collocazione delle scene con Aqua è perfetta e denota la costante attenzione di Everglow ai dettagli. Durante “Dive to the Heart”, vediamo per prima la colonna di Biancaneve: è addormentata, segno che è stata già catturata da Malefica (e infatti giocando si può scoprire che è stata catturata prima di Alice), mentre i nani sono ancora svegli, segno che il loro mondo non è ancora caduto nell’oscurità. Il fatto che Aqua arrivi al Castello dei Sogni nel Mondo dell’Oscurità poco prima del sogno di Sora quindi ha perfettamente senso, visto che in seguito giungerà nel Bosco dei Sette Nani.

I was hoping you'd have KH1s opening sequence, since I feel that's apart of Sora's dive into the heart. Especially since it opens with him saying that he's been having weird thoughts lately, and stuff like that.

Yeah, I always kinda felt that, too. That Sora was dreaming and, at the end, he started dreaming his Dive into the Heart, but I can see why Everglow decided not to use it. The video would get copyright-stricken into oblivion.

At the very least Everglow could have changed the music, or just cut out that part of the opening, and focus on Sora's line at the start, and the actual dive into the heart and landing on that station of awakening. It just didn't feel right just cutting to Sora standing there on the Station without showing how he got there.

Absolutely love the ventus flashes corresponding with sora's approach of the bbs princesses' stained glass sections in his dive to the heart. It's as if ventus' heart is remembering his past encounters. Makes the connection between the two that much tighter 👏🏾

Nice touch with the flashbacks. Ven's heart remembering the princesses while Sora's on the pillars. And Riku thinking about Terra when their talking about other worlds. Good stuff.

11:39 & 13:10 makes me think ienzo is connected to the keyblade war era (or more precisely the dandelions). I could be over thinking but its scenes like this & others that make me think twice about his (& even’s) roles: - in BBS, meeting ven even comment on ienzo’s parents & about ven. Seeing how ven was present during the dandelion days i wouldnt overlook ienzo& even being connected. - Also in BBS, ansem the wise & ienzo were walking together hand in hand when ienzo stopped to look at xehanort & braig as if he “ sense something” - In the last vid, in the ansem the wise report he mentioned even had an interest in xehanort’s past. Maybe he knows something... - Also, dilan & even were the only 2 apprentices still unconscious in DDD. Potential 13 darknesses candidates anyone(?)

The problem is that there's a large chunk of time that needs to be accounted for - Young Xehanort on Destiny Islands is after the Keyblade War, but long before Ventus or Ienzo would have even been born. The link between the modern Ventus and the Ventus of Union Cross is something we don't yet have enough information to figure out - there's something yet to be revealed that's happening there. We do know there are places where time flows at different rates. We do know there are sleeping worlds that keyblade wielders can visit, where time effectively loops. We do know it's possible to create and visit data worlds using magical books (such as Jiminy's Journals or Winnie the Pooh - or maybe the Book of Prophecy?) We do know that time travel is possible, but, according to the established rules, only within your own worldline, so it's very unlikely that that's the explanation here. We can't rule out the possibility of reincarnation - we've had absolutely no discussion of what happens to someone's heart when they die normally. My feeling is that it's most likely for Dandelion Ventus to be modern Ventus in a copy of the events of the Keyblade War in a similar manner to Roxas in Data-Twilight Town, but I'm far from certain, and would not be at all surprised if another explanation entirely ends up being correct.

I was really hoping that the scene with Xemnas and Aqua's armor would coincide with the scene with Aqua and Terra in the Realm of Darkness. I guess you get a pass because he supposedly goes there more than once, and time is wack in the RoD. This is still a REALLY good episode!

It's also implied that he stays there a _really_ long time. Sora's adventure takes probably just a few days, so it very well could coincide with that particular visit.

Yes! I've been so excited for these videos, you have no idea. It's a bittersweet feeling because I'm so excited when a new episode pops up into my sub feed, but then I'm disappointed once it ends because I'm like "fuck man, I want more NOW." Watching this is such a treat. While it isn't perfect, I've always been one to defend that the story of KH isn't AS confusing as people make it out to be. But seeing it all unfold in chronological order like this makes me affirm that even more now. Everything flows so well and I feel like I'm completely following every detail. It's amazing enough on its own to see the story progress chronologically, but it's only made better with your awesome little additions to give it a more cinematic touch. Love the bits flashing back to the princesses of heart, and I like that they're all specifically memories of Ventus. I also really like how you intentionally lost to Riku, but still made it look fairly convincing as if Sora were trying his best. It makes sense with the story and it fits with later bits like when Sora says he wanted to be like him. It wouldn't make sense if you had Sora whipping Riku in everything, yet also feeling envious of him. Love little details like that. Extremely excited to see what you're going to do for the final boss of KH1, since it takes place alongside 0.2's final boss. These videos can't come fast enough. Also, I asked this in your last video (didn't realize that version had gotten deleted until I went to rewatch episode 32 later on) but are you going to update or modify these videos at all once KH3 comes out and we get new information that elaborates more on things we hadn't seen before? Will KH3 eventually be added to this at all?

Thank you Everglow for that episode! I'm really impressed when seeing how you manage these episodes and story arcs! The level of detail and care you put in this episode is really astonishing: the clever snippsets of Ventus to make us remember what happened, the way Aqua reflects on how time passes in the realm of light while seeing it with Sora, the video thumbnails, etc. It really builds up the story overall, and I'm sure that it will greatly pay off later on. (Looking forward to that!)

He probably would, but it wouldn't be before Mickey saw Apprentice Xehanort as otherwise, Mickey would recognise his name. In BBS, Mickey never met Xehanort and Yen Sid wasn't there to witness what happened in The Keyblade Graveyard. So Yen Sid didn't know exactly what happened at the end of BBS.

Y'know, I always wondered who was behind the "Voice" when Sora was in Dive to the Heart. Seeing how you cleverly slot in Ventus' scenes with the princesses, I somehow heard Ven's voice saying those words to Sora. And, it kinda makes sense, because Ventus never really attempted to know what kind of a person Sora is, until now. Also, 15:36 Everglow you are absolutely brilliant for doing that. And the transition from Xemnas talking to Aqua's armor to Aqua arriving Castle of Dreams is done so well it really felt as if it's a TV drama. You even emphasized the part where Aqua said "time" doesn't exist in the Realm of Darkness by showing how long the fight from 11:08 lasted, which was 31:38 (in lore time wise, that felt reaaaaaaally long)

Yayyyy! Such a good episode! I loved the flashback to Terra during Riku’s dialogue. And the cuts to Aqua remind you of the scope of the worlds and all of these places falling to darkness.

It finally makes sense as to why those specific images are set in Soras heart while he is "gaining" those powers. Even though it wasn't established back when KH1 came out could it be that Ventus is talking to him and instructing him?

It has been confirmed that the voice talking to Sora in KH1 is Mickey. Here's a quote from the KH1 Ultimania: 1) Mysterious Voice "It’s the King calling to Sora here. In the Dive To Heart, the King guides Sora through his dream, explaining the intentions of the adventure." "When Sora acquires the Keyblade for the first time after this (p.95) and just before passing through the last door of The End of The World (p.139), Sora hears a voice reverberate in him that sounds like the King’s. Well, one'd have to disregard that Ven never met Belle for that to work. (The BBS Ven, I mean. Ven had likely seen projections of all the princesses' world as part of his lux gathering during chi)

I was wondering how this part of the timeline would look. It's really interesting seeing KH 1, BBS, and BBS 0.2 happen at the same time. I forgot that the added scenes from 2 would also happen around this time. It really helps tie a lot of pieces tie together!

Oh my gosh the stained glass floors part makes total sense now. I always thought that the designs were kinda random when you play KH1 first. Like, oh you're on an island and it's tropical and go get some coconuts! Then suddenly, DISNEY. Bless you, Everglow. It all(mostly) makes sense now.

that scene with xigbar and zexion gives me chills. Interesting directors note - xigbar doesn't let his hood down once. I got serious master of master vibes in this scene. He even sounds like the guy! Starting to think about the xigbar/MoM theories.

How you're handling 0.2 has me very excited for everything you're going to be doing with Hollow Bastion all the way through Chain of Memories because so much happens concurrently throughout that time period!

Wow, I LOVED the flashcuts to Ventus (especially as we were going through Sora's Awakening! At least for the first 3 princesses, it makes sense why their stations would be in Sora's heart; Ven is remembering them). And I think it's a super deft move to interlock KH1 with Fragmentary Passage. For one thing, I would've been heartbroken to lose track of Aqua so soon after the end of BBS, but it also just makes the first game feel all the more cohesive with the sprawling lore that would come after. That said, it's also been such a trip to relive KH1 after all these years. Seeing the Destiny Trio's dynamic reveal itself is such a treat (particularly Kairi, who had a lot of spunk back here; and also the Paopu conversation between Sora and Riku is SO LAYERED, even back then). Kudos for making the tutorial stuff feel relevant and exciting, and also excellent choreographing with the mini Riku battle. It makes the most sense for Sora to canonically lose, but as you were playing him, it never once felt like he was holding back. That takes some artistry, imo.

The amount of time I’ve spent binging this, prepping for march, eagerly awaiting this episode is uncanny. Thanks for all the work you put into these. Especially given the mobile games are no longer playable. Even if i could play them i wouldn’t have the time to, adulthood makes too many demands of me. Hopefully they will drop some news on the 28th of March.

Chamber of Repose must be the missing link to Aqua being possibly "Norted" in KH3. Although im sure itll be something else so ill hold my theories.

Randy Orr its possible, however Xemnas only used it to find Ven, which was also shown through 0.2 where Aqua gave it away. im pretty sure that was the exact moment where Xemnas was speaking to Aqua's armour. cause after that scene Aqua and Mickey met up and that was around where KH1 was about to end. and it seems by that time Xemnas already sent out the organization members to Castle Oblivion to look for Ventus. however of course we know Sora coincidentally stopped them from doing that

Well Aqua is the only one able to solve castle oblivion's Mystery ( or rather with eraqus' keyblade ) so i don't think Xemnas can do much with that information yet, proven when he sent Organization members to try to solve its mystery. With Aqua Norted, however, its only a matter of time before he has access to Ven's chamber ( although there is that one first trailer scene with Sora finding Eraqus keyblade on destiny islands so i think ventus might still be safe or Sora will use it to return ventus' heart to him). This also gives the twilight town scene, theyve been showing constantly in the trailers with Xemnas and Ansem, meaning. They require ventus heart ( Roxas as well? Awakening darkness too? idk they changed this scenes dialogue several times. ) from Sora. With Vanitas also harassing Sora i gander a guess that its about time for all this to come together.

Randy Orr well its definetly possible for Roxas and Ventus to return as Ventus's heart is in Sora and we learnt that Nobodies actually have hearts. also the DDD CGI intro already foreshadows the 7 guardians of light. Sora, Riku, Mickey, Ventus, Aqua, Terra and the final one was Roxas. which suggests Lea is just there for support, and Nomura did state that there are new princesses besides Kairi. so i guess Kairi cant be both a princess and one of the 7 lights.

I literally love these videos omg they way you connect everything is so amazingly good scratch that amazing 😉 you fixed every question I had about continuity so far the only this is with Mickey and when In kh2 when he remembered Xehanort did he forget the BBS trio? But you’ll figure out a way to fix that as well with maybe a flash back of BBS

8:09 Long ass staircase. 11:50 In the Japanese version, its called Chamber of Sleep. 10:14 Dat graphics change. 10:35 English version got the name right instead using of Realm of Darkness. 16:23 Just so people know, that's not Ven talking. It's.... Japanese version makes it more obvious since Ven doesn't speak that way.

Shame, but we all know the reason. Oh well. Also, I can't believe Sora tossed away the Paopu Fruit that Riku gave him.... Wait, does that count as them sharing it? I can believe SE would decide that's the case.
