I hope this 4th movie doesn’t ruin the trilogy. The first 3 we’re actual masterpieces with amazing writing. Hope this 4th one is at least good or lives up to it but it looks very good so far

I mean when the original series went this way, it tanked critically. Im not sure how audiences will react this time. Im sure it will be as hamfisted as ever though since Hollywood infantilizes their viewers.

Looks like a great sequel. I'm a big fan of the Planet of the Apes reboot series. Set generations after the last movie, the humans regressing to a feral state, and new ape leaders, characters, and humans, this might be the best movie of the reboot series yet. Looks amazing

The opening few minutes of the original in this series makes reference to the space ship being lost, I will bet this one ends with that ship finally crash landing back on Earth and syncing up with the original ‘68 timeline for the next movie.

I don’t think the movie is set so far away from the events of the last triology… the main character is Cornelius, Caesar’s son… maybe around 2035. First movie was set in 2011. 2nd one was more or less in 2021 according to what Maurice said in Dawn. And the 3rd was set about 1 or 2 years later… so I’d say 2023… in this 4th movie Cornelius is an adult, I guess 2030, 2035? But most important I don’t think that the Caesar’s family story is connected with the first original movie

It looks like either a remake of the original Planet of the Apes, or (more likely) a very direct prequel to an eventual remake. I predict that this film will be about Nova and her tribe surviving and attempting to evade the ape overlords and that the film will end with something mysterious falling from the sky. Preferably something lacking Mark Walberg. The previous movies in the prequel franchise have been surprisingly well made, especially the two directed by Matt Reeves, but his absence makes me dubious about the quality of the script. I'll definitely be going into this one with expectations low, but hoping to be surprised by another quality film.

They want to make it a trilogy probably so they are probably going to do a prequel then a remake of 1 and 2. Like they made a trilogy of remakes of 3-5. They showed Nova in the trailer though so I'm not sure. As a lover of the original 5 movies I'm excited but if they are going to make a remake of 2 I wonder what it's going to be like because that movie is easily the weirdest one of the whole series 😂

The balls on the executives that green light that!!! 99.9% of the audience would be pissed and there would be you, me, and Rich Evans in the back of three different theaters giving standing ovations, knowing that somewhere, someone else is clapping too.🤣🤣🤣

I’m one of the Biggest P.O.T.A fans I know. Been waiting on this movie for years… I hope it’s as good as the other ones…. And I hope it’s able to capture the excitement and suspense that I got from the other ones… Im postponing my back tattoo… my whole back tattoo was going to be dedicated to P.O.T.A I already had my design so I might have to change it. Depending if I get better scenes from this movie. From I know there 3 more coming out so we’re going to have to wait and see ✊🏽

Could the main ape be Ceasars youngest son in the future? That would be so cool! It would also make a lot of sense given how much time has passed in the film. The humans reverting to a more primitive lifestyle also makes sense to the story since in the last movie, humans were slowly starting to lose their ability to speak (in essence, what makes them human)

I appreciate these movies (rise,dawn,war) and now kingdom because the apes still have ape physiology. I understand in the original stuff, the movies and tv shows, that them having a human physiology gave it shock value and I enjoyed the few movies I've seen but I still questioned why heightened intelligence would change there bodily composition. So I'm glad theyer still ape-like

I love all Apes films, even the lesser liked ones(Beneath, Battle and the 2001 film). Reboot trilogy is my favorite era of the series and I’m confident this will be good.

It's definitely a ape further down Caesars lineage. The very visible birthmark you see on the chest near the shoulder strongly resembles that of Ceasars.

Cornelius(or what I'm assuming is Cornelius) looks a lot like Caesar did in the first movie. I'm definitely excited for this movie.

This movie is actually set way way after the last one. The ape you see isn’t Cornelius but a new character named Noah. At this point in time it’s normal for apes to speak and humanity has become completely feral. I’m even more pumped tbh, we’re getting more and more of an explanation of what happened to cause earth to be the way it was when the astronauts arrive in the 1968 version.

I'm a little disappointed that we won't get to see adult Cornelius, Rocket, Maurice, or any of the other apes from the Caesar trilogy but I'm definitely excited and intrigued for this upcoming film.

We probably won't get adult Cornelius because these next few movies look like remakes of the original 2 movies. This past trilogy were remakes of 3-5 and they ended the 3rd movie remake like they weren't going to make anymore specifically by having both Nova and Cornelius in the movie. Cornelius in the og movies is the father of Caesar not his son and the girl in this trailer would be nova but the nova in this past trilogy would be dead by now. So if they are remaking the movies they are probably going to have a different Cornelius since he is a prominent figure of the first 3 movies of the originals just like they will have a different Nova since Nova is a prominent character in the first 2 movies.

@@blaketfg9374 I’m not sure if these are entirely remakes or actual prequels to the 1968 film. I know technically the original 3-5 from the 70’s were supposed to be the prequels to the 1968 but I always imagined those as just an alternate timeline to the origins of the 1968 film.

@@ajb66658 it could be the case but for them to have both nova and Cornelius way before they are actually born in the 1968 movie makes it seem like it is a remake instead of a prequel. Idk though because they take things from all the movies. In the 3rd movie of the original we are told the original Ceasars first word to a human was "No" In the 4th movie, the one with Caesar, he already knows how to talk at the start but in the newer movies we see Ceasars first word to a human is "No" so it makes it sound like a prequel. The first 3 original movies all have a version of time travel which also makes it confusing but considering this movie coming out seems to be a prequel to the 1968 movie, since we see Nova again(Original nova not the remake nova) Looks like they are making a trilogy, A prequel to the original then remaking the 1st movie and the 2nd movie to have a full trilogy which makes it seem, to me, that the other 3 were also remakes but going from past to future instead of from the future to the past like the originals especially since how much the new movies are like the 4th and 5th movies of the series. But again I'm not sure.

I was ecstatic when I went to the movies today and noticed the poster for the upcoming Planet of the Apes film. As a devoted fan of the series, I immediately came to view the trailer. I can't wait to watch the new movie!😊 And I appreciate that the trailer didn't spoil the movie.

Yeah. I was not too much excited judging from just Maze runner but this got me a little more hopeful. Not to mention the apes trilogy is a beautiful thing to be a part of. Let’s hope he doesn’t let both franchises down… I’m still not at all confident in the writing aspect of the Zelda movie though…

I’d love for this movie to be somewhat of a connecting movie to essentially a remake of the originals. Next movie have Taylor crash land thinking he’s on another planet and just put a modern element on it while still keeping the core story of the originals. But we’d only need the first 2 of the originals remade. 3-5 don’t need to be part of this lol
