I think it's about drug abuse in the music industry. Someone rises to fame and becomes "king", but falls into addiction and everyone talks about it. They die from overdose, the dialog stops, then the next generation becomes musicians and the cycle repeats.

the yellow pill for me represents the "power" he has in abundance while the rest don't, and always wanting more and more like a drug, until he loses everything looking for more (so much so that before he falls he leaves some of these pills for back, a little power for the successor, who will always want for more) I think.

Some said he had been the best leader of all. But one day, a small young boy appeared in front of the king. The boy knew of the kings weariness, and offered him a special pill to help. The king, had not known this pill would lead to his demise, gratefully took, and ate, the pill. And so, the king felt himself grow strong inside, but couldn’t realize he had become weak outside. And as the boy supplied more, the king ate more, and eventually the people took notice. “I head his eyes turned yellow.” One would say. “I heard he stumbles when he walks.” Another would say. But, despite their attempts, the king wouldn’t stop consuming, for the boy had already convinced him they were his cure. And, as the king took another pill, he could see his vision fading. He told the boy he would need to take a nap. And as he fell asleep, the boy pushed the king off of the cliff which the king rested upon. The boy took the crown and made himself the new ruler. And everybody had it in their mind that they had gotten through to the king and helped him out of his state. But of course, as there always is a lust for power, a boy emerged in front of the sinful king, and offered him a pill.”

I think this is an animation of betrayal, drug addiction, overdose and karma. The horned guy introduces drugs to the king, the king gets addicted, overdoses, he succeeds him and someone does the same to him.

Plot Twist: the horned guy is Purdue Pharma and that pill is Oxycotin, and the king is a innocent person in the hospital

I like to imagine these two are just pulling pranks on each other with these pills on purpose, like, a loop where the assistant becomes the king and vice versa repeatedly

That is some bestfriendsmanship, the little buddy brings him a big pill.

A king watches a meteor shower while his assistant gives him a single king pill which turned into many. They king passed out due to drug overdose and the assistant takes his role as king. The king falls into water and gets back up with a plan to get his crown back. He finds a king pill and does the same thing the assistant did and falls off the cliff also wanting revenge.

I think a lot of new players don't realize that every dorf, every cyclops, and every earthworm demon has a story to tell. I think the best one I've had was a dwarven baby in fortress besting a giant anaconda using only his fists, who then grew up to be the dungeon master and the captain of the guard, and was known to be extremely likeable but most definitely had a mean streak. Unfortunately, he was sentenced to be hammered after killing the king by tearing out his tongue and beating him to death with - again - his bare fists. An interesting life, with a tragic end.

This might be my favorite animation period, it’s so dream like, it encompasses so many aspects of a dream yet it also feels so real like something that happens in real life, it’s surreal and vivid.
