you could make the winch mount pivot and lock with pins at 3 different angles so your winch winds evenly

If the chain was longer so you can wrap it completely around the log twice and then hook it on itself then hook it up to your Wall bracket on the back your charger it will keep it from sliding off and it would work out good. You can also go down to your local logging shop or even possibly tractor supply store and they can make up a bunch of choker cables. Then, when you get to your lunch, they won’t come off at all and I think quick work of it. Looks good though.😊

I already tried doing this with my tractor but found out that the tractor alternator could not keep up with the electrical demand of the winch for more than a few logs at a time. In the end I gave up on this mode of retrieving logs because it took too long for the tractor battery to recuperate between each log skidding.

What's the weight capacity of the 3pt winch mount? What's its single-line pull rating? Is it rated for a double-line pull?

Hey Mr.Ric your "new-fangled" idea is Suburb. You got the "Electric-Hog" winch solidly mounted, the hood UP for excellent engine cooling,and your "stance", right next to winch-a-matic to finely observe "Over heating issues", and a fine "glove-Less" touch on the "wire-rope-guideance" system. I think l wood have an EXTRA battery rigged "direct-drive" to the "winch-a-matic ". Having those Lonnggg "junker-cables" dang-a-latting from front to back is a BIG lose of Electical Power,pulse it's "Throbbing " the Electricical-Contorol-Unit (ECM) to the Tractor,=;; Bad-news soon. Hey Ric, I have a similar idea for my up and coming wood yard but I have questions. I'm definitely not going into the skidder fabrication business so have no fear. My biggest question is shock loading and static load on the winch gears, I know most all bumper mount type winches like this have planetary gears and I was wondering how they hold up after a while, I'm a logger by trade, a skidder man but the big cable skidders have a completely different type of winch, apples and oranges to how these 12volts work. They are made to drag a load over rough ground and handle hang-ups , jerks and snatchs while being towed behind the tractor, these smaller winches from my understanding are not designed to handle that and are only for pulling a load under their own power, not towing a load with the cable.if you get what I'm questioning. Just wondering if you have had any issues with this or if there's things you look for or avoid when looking at winches. Some kinda gear lock or brake on the spool?

Your lack of winching knowledge and experience are glaringly obvious. Do not touch a cable with a bare hand. Do not suck the cable all the way in on a pull. Do not reverse the drum without tension on the cable. This is what I observed in about 30 seconds of your activity. These are all very basic, 101 type things.
