Logic doesn't exist in the world of the scammer. We are talking about someone that will call you up, claiming to be from Comcast, Microsoft, etc., offering you a refund, but before the call is over, they have morphed into law enforcement, the FTC, and any number of agencies offering their assistance to help your grandson get out of jail. However things can turn dark very quickly, to the point where they are now threatening to kill, and chop up your beloved grandson if you refuse to go to Walmart, or Target to purchase gift cards to pay his bail. Logic? I don't think so.

The only reason I can think of is that gift cards are much less 'riskier' (to a scammer with no technical skills) than directly taking money out of an account. Transactions are much harder to trace through gift cards.

@@testuser4810 gift cards are essentially untraceable, plus the scammers will typically use a service that allows gift cards to be used to purchase crypo currencies (see the bitcoin website news section for links) they then sell the crypto currency for cash, all basically untraceable...it's why they get away with it for so long.

Does it break your heart to know he is faking most of these scammers it’s the same Indian accent every time I even played the voices on two devices registered them with voice recognition software and and it’s a 90.7 match so it’s as accurate as me playing my own voice to the software on the same two devices I got 91.2 so this guy probably started out catching scammers but ran out of content so now he make his own. you would except to hear differences between words because of regional accents like you would in the u.s or the uk but they just don’t

my mum got a call from a scam number she handed the phone to me and as soon as i told him to F off and stop wasting peoples time. me and him had a 1 hour argument over how apparently "i am the worst person he has spoke to in ages" lol i was never taking him serious then he made threats ... i went to my PC and 2 minutes later i pulled his location up and his "call center" after i told him his "call center" adress and street name, he was apologizing. the scammers have no back bone when they go up against someone who know what they are doing

I think many of them are actually just confused young people who are being preyed on by the bosses of these operations. They have to turn off their conscience to do the work they're doing, and justify their actions to themselves in some way, and it's pretty damaging to them as people I think. Even though I do believe that many of them wouldn't be evil if they weren't in a situation where their worst traits are being nurtured and enforced, in moments where they're scamming and being terrible to an old lady or something the fragments of sympathy I have for them poof away. These videos are honestly so educating on suffering and dark human nature, as well as the weird fine line between feeling sorry for them and hating them. Like, I'd rather these scams don't exist at all, obviously, but since they do we can as well learn something about anthropology, right?

But one time a guy basically broke down when it was already clear the scam wouldn't work, and Kitboga told him he should get out of there and get help, stuff like that. Obviously I don't feel sorry for them in their scam role, but behind the evil person there's often a tragic life, even if it's riddled with bad choices and crime.

A REAL CSR will never cold call a person and ask for personal information, if there is a problem they will tell the person call the number on their card or on their statement, never a number they gave..

@@DollnAbox feelings don't always reflect the truth about our worth because we look at ourselves critically. I have a suggestion that helped me. My doctor had me write in a notebook what I thought and ask someone outside myself what they thought. I called it the fear/fact list. So when one of those fear thoughts popped up, I opened the notebook and referred to the fact. Give that a try. It's a matter of not believing the lies we tell ourselves. And read this book "Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway ". Let me know how you are doing?

They think it's okay to steal from Americans and people in first world countries because we have a welfare system they don't have in India. Their poor and elderly are left out in the street to starve. I don't think they're evil, but I do think what they're doing is awful and I'm glad people like Kitboga exist to make their lives harder. I think if you knew what it was like to live in India in a hut with your 20 other family members making $100 a month, you'd think it'd be okay to steal from the American elderly, also. I work in a hotel and we get rare occasions where a glitch in our online booking system stops the credit card info coming through to take prepayments. My former supervisor is Indian. Her having to call up guests to get their card details to secure prepayments was a challenge at times to say the least...

I sometimes turn the TV to a bad channel and tell them I'm busy but hold the line then put the phone by the TV to see how long they'll stay on the line. Sometimes they waste a lot of time waiting !

I do the same if I have time. I have a Southern accent which I tend to thicken it up when they call and they tend to think I'm simple. I've had some funny experiences. I start talking about my cat, dead wife, etc and they get so pissed off. Usually they just tell me to f my mother and hang up. I usually don't have the time to do this but when I can, I do.

I must admit I do have a second phone just for scammers. I usually just find a youtube video with traffic noises and let them listen while I try to get through a traffic jam. You then can carry on doing stuff around the house while they listen to horns beeping. Every now and then I will pick the phone up and assure them that we are only ten minutes away just to encourage them to stick around.. My best result was to keep one online for over two hours to only then tell him that the store was closed but if he rang me back the next day we could try again. I am still waiting for him to get back. Another gimmick is to keep them going for hours is to pretend yours eyes are too bad to read the gift card numbers. When they get sick of that I send them a picture of a card that is so blurry that they can't read the numbers. I imagine them spending hours trying to decipher the blurry text. Wouldn't help them anyway because it is a used card.
