Kitchenaid Fridge No Cool, Board NLA - The Samurai Fix

This expensive Kitchenaid KSCS25INSS00 fridge was not cooling in both compartments. The problem turned out to be a failed 120 VAC output from the main control board to the condenser fan motor. Even though this model is only 12 years old, the main control board is discontinued.
Using a patented Samurai Fix™, I bypassed the main board at a fraction of the cost of either replacing the entire fridge or an expensive rebuild of the control board. This fixed the fridge not cooling in both compartments.

Very good video. Been there done that, as the saying goes. Also have done that on a few older Whirlpool under counter ice makers for same failure.

Great video there is a place in Illinois called corecentric that rebuilds that board there is also a kit if you call kitchen aid maybe they will provide part number only factory service has access👍

If it's a 2 phase compressor, what do you think about tying it into the power to the compressor? That way, the fan only comes on the compressor turns on.

Look at the schematic at about 1:25 into the video. This is not a 120 VAC split ohase compressor. It is a 3-phase compressor that’s run by an inverter. So picking power off the compressor was not an option.

@@AppliantologyOrg Yep. It even says in big capital letters under it "COMPRESSOR INVERTER". Not sure how I missed that. Thanks.

Very nice short cut , I used to do this on the condenser fan motor on the AC and by pas it to see if the board is bad or if the motor is bad . thank you , Question are you the instructor in Samurai website ?
