To those wondering what happened next: Jack's Waterfront aired on November 06 2008, the episode was filmed in March 2008. Jack's Waterfront closed in December 2010. Jack's reopened as Dockside Jack's in March 2011. They sold the restaurant back to the previous owners and it became Brownies on the Lake in April 2011 I think even this closed and its called as HOOK right now.

Aaron and Scott are absolute MVPs in the Kitchen Nightmares lore. Aaron is definitely one of if not the best chef that we’ve seen and Scott is definitely one of, if not the best owners.

To be honest, I respect Aaron for spelling crab with a ‘k’ to not mislead the customers.

The head-tilting thing Scott is doing with customers is subconscious body language. It's to make him appear less intimidating. He's obviously quite self conscious of the fact that he probably comes across as scary to a lot of people.

The way Scott defended Aaron and yelled at those lazy cooks and them answering with "Yes sir!" was amazing.

Sometimes having a big strong jock on your side is useful. Scott putting the kitchen staff in their place was very satisfying.

Nobody mentioning that moment when Scott step up and kinda disciplining the entire kitchen staff for Aaron? I think that's a real gentle giant in action right there. He make himself 'scary' on the right time on the right place. And even Aaron acknowledged it.

I’m always in awe of Gordon. He always reluctantly forces people to do the right things. That is such a measure of patience that few chefs have in their tool chest. Our business is tough and it requires like minded people to call a spade a spade. Gordon brings out the best of people and shows them the road to success. Not many like him in our business.

All the line cooks had me pressed when the chef was trying his hardest to give the orders and trying to get the food out and they weren’t answering at all😂

I absolutely love the head chef. He's honest, willing to accept change, he understands what he's been doing and he's been held back. I seriously respect that man.

This was the most heartwarming episode I’ve seen

I grew up in St Clair Shores and ate at Jacks many times during the 90's and 00's. It was a nice place at the time and its sad to see what happened to it over the years. I was born in Michigan and after military and university I moved to the Philippines in 2012. Seeing Jacks during the winter reminds me of how much I hate Michigan weather.

Scott isn’t scary! He’s a great solid dude. Very polite and listens to Gordon and responds immediately to his feedback. He cares about his business and you can see how happy he was when Tammer his partner gave him a compliment.

It feels like a sit-com. Three body builders who buy a restaurant together. The biggest and scariest of the three is actually the gentle giant. The evil father running the business and manipulating his son. The sassy chef who wants the restaurant to do good and the wait staff who just don’t care.

Scott is undoubtedly one of the most misjudged owners ever on this show. I'm glad people were able to see he's actually a nice guy who was willing to accept change and not just some scary hulk looking dude picking a fight.

These always end so wholesome with everyone happy and on the same page, but then you scroll down to the comments and some guy tells you everyone died 2 years later when the kitchen was struck by lightning and the entire place exploded.

Shortly after the closure, it reopened under new ownership as Dockside Jack’s in March 2011. However, it was permanently closed after a month and the three owners sold it back to the previous owners. As of 2023, a restaurant called Brownies on the Lake is operating in the previous Jack’s Waterfront Michigan location. They have returned back after 14 years and are operated by Andiamo Restaurant Group.

I really appreciate that Gordon recognizes when owners are lying about their chefs having control. Same things with many other videos I've seen, the owner/manager will blame the chef for cooking shit food yet won't let the chef change the recipe or technique to actually make it taste better.

aj was truly the anime villain of this episode. he essentially took advantage of the fact his son was inexperienced in the restaurant field and used it as a way to get a paycheck for doing nothing productive. the fact that his son felt so bad about potentially firing him just shows how manipulative aj was since he knew he was protected by his son's guilt.

Scott coming into the kitchen to kick ass genuinely moved me to tears. Everyone needs a Scott in their lives...

The real gem of this episode is Scott 🥰 You could tell he was on his best behavior and regained everyones confidence in him ❤️ Also Aron: promising prospect 👌🏻 All in all, this was a beautiful story of three good friends that are also business partners. Interesting characters and very entertaining episode 👍🏻

Aaron is a legend. He knows what hes doing. And Scott tbh one of the nicest scary dudes Iw seen. And Arron was acting like head chef from the first minute of the show. It made me angry when they said "Finally acting like a chef..."

These three guys are very lucky to have THE chef like Aaron. Probably the only restaurant of all Kitchen Nightmares where chef is actually a professional who cares. I felt sorry for Aaron. He wants to serve people good food. When he looks Chef Ramsey he’s eyes are shining. That is loving what you do.

Scott is the true definition of never judging someone because of their expressions or appearance. He had the biggest heart of them all and yet he was so scared to speak out because he knew he was a big guy and might scare people. I bet in the gym he would be one of the first to approach an out-of-shape or inexperienced person to give them a helping hand and encouragement. A lot of really scary looking guys are just big teddy-bears on the inside. But heck is it SO satisfying to watch him walk into that kitchen and demand head-chef respect for Aaron. That cute teddy-bear will rip your head off if it comes to it. xP

One of the best episodes. These guys honestly needed help, they acknowledged the criticisms, they were ready to change, they followed every bit of advice, they were greatful for everything... And the fisherman was so wholesome too.
