Lioba, you always blow me away with your artworks and I love how there is such great meaning behind every element in every piece. I also love how passionate you are learning about the different cultures and mythologies of your subject matter. You don’t just paint these things because they’re pretty or that you think they will sell. I loove kitusne legends and Japan mythology as well 😊 I love that Tamamo no Mae even gets her redemption as she atone her sins. It's even more interesting to know that some believe that Tamamo was originally from China disguised as a court lady and committing horrible crimes. Your painting is so gorgeous and definitely captures the mystic nature of a kitusne 😊

In a quite recent video, she used Schmincke watercolor. In many of her older video, she used an unknow brand that kinda look like Gansai Tambi paint. Frankly, I wouldn’t recommend that unknown brand. There’s a youtube review I saw a while ago and the artist say that the paint is prone to reactivate/ hard to layer with. For most painting, any professional watercolor brand is fine. If you draw portraits, just make sure that your paints are not granulating. If you just started, any well know student grade paints or the cheapest professional paints in your area are enough.

She’s a fine artist but if you want to learn more about watercolor’s properties ( staning, granulating) or different pigments,mI would recommend others like Denise Soden, Kimberly, or Oto
