A Busy couple of days getting Store lambs ready to sell. Also Cattle Yards update and some Fencing.
My Name is Alistair Bird and My wife Genna and I farm on 'The Grange" near Oxford, North Canterbury, in the South Island of New Zealand.

Yards are coming along good. lambs looking good. fences like that are tricky to get tight on slopes

I like the way you are negotiating amongst agents to sell your draft of weaned cattle, here in Victoria we are more reliant on having a regular agent and hoping for the best price at sale yards by trying to pick the right sale

As always another great video Alistair. Hopefully you get a good price for your lambs and cattle. Shame couldn't drive the broken down tractor would have happily drive to rollerston and back for you if it meant saving a grand

Ouch. 10k fix swallow hard and move on. No doubt PF have a few tradeins on offer…. with similar “maintenance problems in waiting”. Is that an M615? Enjoy Easter with the whanau.

I see all your sheep yards have a plank running along the top of posts what is the reason for that ? Strength? I've been over there I've seen it the same on most but never asked

Yea for strength but to also increase the height of the fence. Our sheep like to try and get out.

Mate and here I was moaning about $350 for a new starter motor on my old Holden lol. Hopefully they diagnose what went wrong because it was major break. I got a mate who used to manage a fleet of trucks and now he hunts possums on the Coromandel lol He reckons his life is a lot less stressful with only one internal combustion engine in it lol
