I knew it was a lie the moment I heard it, obviously, but it is intriguing nonetheless.". Meaning he was confident in his backup plans which was him turning into Glitchtrap and saving himself - William managed to manipulate Vanessa to kill children, which was to build a reputation to terrify Gregory leading to the creation of Burntrap, William becoming physical AGAIN. Acting skills/Persuasion/Charisma (William was really charismatic, this is gonna be long): - Regularly put himself infront of his customers, adult or children, they trusted him because he was charismatic. He also managed to hide his ulterior motives and this is reinforced by the fact that EVEN HIS BEST FRIEND didn’t know. - He managed to persuade the children to follow him one by one, with not a single one questioning. Not even the parents of the children questioned as they trusted him further adding to his charisma. - He managed to persuade his own son Michael to go to the Sister Location which was a completely untracked area which he knew nothing about but yet he still went despite all the negative factors. - It is HIGHLY possible that William actually knew that Henry would set him on fire and that’s why he acted like he was shocked and in pain so Henry could finally kill him, transferring him into Glitchtrap. - He managed to persuade the souls of his victims to follow him to their second death (FNAF 3 minigames)

Glitchtrap is not Mimic. Both the books and the games make it very clear that Mimic1 ≠ Glitchtrap. In SB, the Vhs tapes of the psychologist who talks to 2 patients make it very clear that Glitch stopped being a Glitch and became a subroutine that copied what Glitchtrap did, that is, Mimic1 just copied what the Glitchtrap did, however. His dominance of copying what Glitchtrap did resulted in a problem for the Animatronics. Just to clarify, the patient the psychologist talks to was Gregory and this is confirmed in the books too. Gregory was responsible for hacking the pizzaplex and the Animatronics, which is also explained by the psychologist where she blames Gregory for having contaminated the robots with Glitch (or something else). If Mimic was Glitchtrap, it wouldn't make sense for him to copy himself. Not to mention. FnafAR makes it very clear that Glitchtrap is William, as there are UCN lines that are created by Glitchtrap himself. And in HW1 and HW2 it is described in the files as being Glitchtrap's memories, so it doesn't make sense for it to be Mimic. Not to mention that Mimic1 was created at the Pizzaplex, while Glitchtrap was created before the employees even found the Mimic plates (FnafAR also explains about this, that Mimic was the last one to be found).

And actually he doesnt really have mind control hax as you said. He can invade someone's mind when playing the vr game but he has to actively manipulate through words. So he cant just take control of people but has to psychologically manipulate them to brainwash them. He mostly uses emotional manipulation I think.

Almost all of FNAF's lore is based on theories that the books themselves ruined. Glitchtrap/Burntrap have the identity of being Afton, and this does not mean that they really are.
