Could I run this in my radio shack off a car battery instead of buying another power supply?

My 703 didn't like my RCI 69 Base but it loved my 99V2 Galaxy. Input tune is everything.

To get anywhere near the 500w claim, you'll need to up the vdc from 13.8v upto 14.8v

@@mrmoonrakercbradio3603 Hi dear Moonraker, I'm IZ7EQV op. Marco from Italy. I saw your video with keen interest. I also have a KL 703 but my amplifier has been modified and brought to about 200/250 watts more than the standard values. Of course this modification was made to me by a laboratory which among other things at first did not want to do it but I repeatedly insisted because I wanted to lie about the power of more 200 Watt. So, the laboratory recommended me of not to exceed 600 watt in any case. In any case, the maximum power it can now deliver is about 800 watts pep maximum but I repeat, I must not exceed 600 watts pep anyway. Now, the problem is about that I've 1:4 up to 1:8 of VSWR input but in the linear output the antenna on the extremes of band has 1:3 max. So I interposed a small antenna tuner (MM-27 ZETAGI) to the input of the linear that is connected directly through two double male barrel connectors between the ANT output of the transceiver and to the RTX input of the amplifier. Now the problem is that when the linear alignment is off I can't turn down the SWR to 1:0 because the minimum is 1:3 instead, so I thought about changing the arrangement and adding a 2° antenna tuner (HP-1000 ZETAGI) directly to the output of the rosmeter for be able to lower about 1:0 of VSWR of the 1st tuner input sketch. For more information you can write me or add me on Facebook "Pat Marc" or "Marco izsette Eqv". My email: iz7eqv@gmail.com. Thank you very much for reading me. I look forward to hearing from you. 73

hi,good video,well explained,but on ssb how many amp power suppy do you need,thanks from Rotterdam,
@brentmcc60484 жыл бұрын
Does your KL 703 still work. I believe and other videos show that the 1 to 30 watt input is Peak Envelope Power. 8 watts max input gives around 30 watts PEP and under test also provides close to 500 watts out.

This amp...is a "class" AB or C ??
@harrybatt9983 жыл бұрын
I'm led to believe it's class C like the KL503, so it's likely to sound terrible on SSB.

What if my Stryker 955 is peaking at 60 watts. Is my radio too hot for the RM Italy 703? The lowest mu radio is setup to do is 1 1/2 watts.

I have the same radio and that's the question I wanted to know. I'm worried that pep could damage this amp.
