You’re 100% right, someone used that set and the experience drove the design. Those little things are what makes this kit stand out among all the other options.

That's a super nice little set, remind me of the Wera Tool Check, only with the added benefit of the precision drivers. The ratchet has taken some design cues from the Wera, looks slightly longer though.

My go to precision screwdriver is my cheap toolpro dual-drive or double drive. Really interesting ratchet, will always spin the way you want even when rotating handle the opposite direction.

Klein rocks, love the way you went through all this.

Klein is my go to company for all electrician work. Now I'll start considering them for my small electronics as well, although I have a number of IFixit kits that really knock it out of the park when it comes to precision drivers and bits. The Modbox cases certainly are a nice storage solution, great for assembling a field kit from your toolbox quickly.

I would absolutely love to see a manufacturer make a 4mm bit ratchet. Every manufacturer just supplies a 1/4 bit ratchet with an adapter. Klein, Wiha all do this. It just makes it way more bulky

I’m really excited about Klein’s new lease on the tool market and I’m currently systematically replacing some of my kits with Klein tools and I’m a full collection of their tools as a pseudo replacement for several kits

I suspect they have found one good designer,who is responsible for all this recent stuff. The administration has realized the talent they have. Refreshing

One major downside of the precision bits from Klein is they do not replace/sell their bits iondividually. If you lose/break the bits, you are SOL. Their bits are not standard with other brands, I think they are 3.5mm wide. I have few precision screw drivers from Klein, they are nice, love storage design, but when I lost my #01PH, I was really screwed. Tried to get replacement bit through Klein, other sellers. Your only option is to buy another one. I really like bit sets that includes 2nd or 3rd bit of common sizes.

That’s one of the reasons I love Klein Tools. They are not afraid to take criticism and make improvements based off of it. Don’t get me wrong, they are human too and not everything they make is perfect, but that’s one of the reasons they have been around for 167 years.

Nice review. Drives me crazy that 3.5mm and 4mm bits are being developed. I guess there's 2 more adapters that need made (and adapters disappear as much as 10mm sockets). Really wish one or the other would be adopted. Also at some point a bit durability test would be useful, maybe there is a Project Farm/Torque Test Channel/Last Best Tool hybrid channel that does that. I have bunches of cheap 99 bit sets that were purchased over the years, and some of the bit metal was soft or fractured easily. Would be nice to know whose mini/micro bits really stand up. I went to Lowes and saw the flip new flip socket Klein set in was $99.00. A 100 bucks! for it...I'm used to paying a little more for Klein but I'll wait till they get some compitant psychiatric help before I buy any more.

Have you tried the Norske/Korr brand? I have been looking for a set of precision drivers and I think they got a good one. I have the new Klein set, but I can't help but feel I need another set of 4mm to pair with it.

So, I decided to give this set a try and the 1/4 inch to 3.5 adapter will not stick in the magnetic 1/4 inch shaft. It's loose, and the magnet in the driver will not hold it.

That's one big pain in the ass thing about the DeWalt Little boxes for drill bits or screwdriver tips, you need a pair of Knipex pliers to get the bits in and out

They need to knock it out of the park a little further….MAKE THE SAME THINGS IN A METRIC OPTION

I'm basically starting my tool collection all over again in life due to life. I'm having a hard time justifying the 3.5 and the fact you can't replace broken or lost bits and the fact alot of this kline stuff is "Kline Spacific." In my past tool collection there might have been a lost or broken item that you needed and may not have been able to replace with your specific brand but you could find something compatible that would work or borrow your buddies or fellow workers. With this kline stuff, that is not an option.

would you recommend this or the Wiha 75980 set for starting/electronics and general? they cost about the same for the UK

Do the 3.5mm bits fit in the Klein pocket 4-in-1 electronics screwdriver? I don't mind them settling on a size that's un-standard across the industry, but if they do that while simultaneously not maintaining compatibility between their own drivers, I just don't see the point.

Are these tools lifetime warranty also? Have they changed their policy about needing original proof of purchase?

The problem I have with the precision driver set is that it missed knocking it out of the park by about half a millimeter. Klein precision drivers are 3.5 millimeter, the rest of the world is 4mm. If this had been 4mm, I'd have bought it. Second, where are the empty boxes? I need a couple.

What are those small cases you cut the guts out of? Can’t find them

How about the Leatherman ratcheting extension? How does it work? Why is that in-line technology (and other length extensions) not being used be other manufacturers? It's not heavy duty but for tool sizes like the Klein set, it seems useful.

Does this set have T5 & T6 bits?

3.5mm bits? That's a deal-breaker for me. I already have numerous 1/4" and 4mm bit sets, I'm not going to invest in yet another size specific to one brand.

Wasn’t it a Klein set that had an mis marked/stamped bit? They reached out and did they ever fix it? I thought they didn’t.

It's a little odd that Klein doesn't make it easy to search for tool kits made with their ModBox system. They show you everything you can do with their empty boxes but not complete kits.

I returned one of those because the torx bit tips twisted off when I was simply taking my laptop apart and putting it back together. Thats the only truly bad Klein product that I've ever bought.
