How to clean a vacuum cleaner motor
The motor in the vacuum cleaner creates suction power that picks up the dust and debris from the floor. If your vacuum cleaner has lost all suction and/or power, is making unpleasant noises or stopped working completely this may be due to a faulty motor. It's quite common that because of the poor filter maintenance, the motor has dust, hair and small debris in it and eventually it will break down.
Before you thinks of buying a new vacuum cleaner or replacing a motor, have a quick look inside, maybe you'll be able to fix the motor yourself. Watch my video to see how to do it step by step.
In this video I have repaired Hoover WHIRLWIND SE71_WR01001 Cylinder vacuum cleaner but other vacuum cleaners can have similar faults.

Hello, I just wanted to THANK YOU so much for the Whirlwind '3 common problems' video, and particularly this motor maintenance video! You have saved me forking out £35 for an entire new hoover and it has literally never been better, not even close!

seems noone saw the real issue here: the intake should have some sponge filters that prevent large dust from going into the motor, only very fine dust can pass. You have lots of large things stuck, like hair etc. I have vacuum opened first time in 10 years, it had only fine dust coating everything inside.

Hello there, very good job, this month I repeared 6 vaccum cleaner that I found on streets around my house, I have a tip, Next time you can use a drill , attache it around the screw, then you can spin the motor much faster without use your hands

if the vacuum doesn't have a sponge after the dust canister, please add one. If it has only a sponge at the back of the vacuum, it's a really bad vacuum, because small dust particles can pass through sponges. You can replace that sponge with a hepa filter, cut from a larger one for another brand. You can even move that sponge at the exit from dust canister. This way you upgrade your vacuum to higher quality of air filtration.

Need a vacuum cleaner to clean a vacuum cleaner. Guess I gonna have to use other means only have the one Hoover Spritz and from what I can smell, smells like popcorn. So gonna give my Hoover a once over self-service great video in showing how you did your Hoover Spritz.
