Knife Making, making a better spyderco tenacious. I call this one the spyderco tenacious hunter😀
This shows the trials and tribulations of making a spyderco hunting knife by hand. I am a beginner to knife making so I made some mistakes making this knife. Lucky I was able to redeem myself and actually make a pretty cool little knife.
Knife is made from 1080 steel, titanium pins, and g10 scales.
Thanks for watching😀

Dude, I love you channel. You have really jump started my new hobby. You have great step by step instructions, with some dry humor. I also like that you are a spyderco fan. They are definitely my favorite, I also own the sage carbon fiber. It is my favorite knife. Thank you for all of your hard work.

I'm just so glad it's not just me who gets to that point where things go haywire and you have to go for a fix, of some kind. Glad you showed it. I feel a lot better now. And finish it by hand. Been there since I've gouged metal before on a grinder. And more than my share of tubing as pins too. lol Good vid! Honesty! That's money right there. The knife is awesome!

Adding to Mike Boone's comment, I have found that enlarging the hole in tough material using the smallest steps possible helps. It minimizes the amount of material to remove. Use each drill bit in your set. Additionally locking down the material helps too. Do not move the material between drill bits, you'll have to re-center. That's big chatter potential. Use the shortest arbor extension possible. Have just enough room to insert material or swap out bits. Yah and sharp bits, oil 'n stuff. Your videos are great. Mistakes just make it real. Awesome blade. Love the concept.

@@OUTDOORS55 We'll do Alex and once again thank you for showing us it's possible to make high quality knives at home without being a blacksmith. I'm a subscriber and I watch all your videos. Before I make my first attempt at making a knife I have to get a vice and a belt sander than make a forge the way you showed us. My biggest worry is getting good carbon steel here in Australia, but if I can't get good steel I'm going to use a basterd file. Thanks Alex.

You need to turn your drill press speed down when wanting to chamfer an edge on a pre-drilled hole. Preferably as low an or slow as you can go. From my experience that's what works best.
