Knife Making: EDC Fixed Blade Knife with Burlap Micarta scales

In todays episode I make an edc fixed blade knife for my Brother. The knife is made from 1075 high carbon steel and is acid etched and stone washed. The scales are made from Burlap micarta and Mahogany wood.

What a great shape for a belt knife. Thank you for sharing this with us and giving some insight into your process. I've been wanting to try k if making for quite some time but always thought the only way was hot forging which would take a lot of skill and tools that I wouldn't have access to. But once I learned about using steel blanks and then just cutting out a blade shape with a grinder, files, and a belt sander, this is totally something that I could take a swing at when my health is better. I know that the refinement skills and consistency and detailed intricacy are things that take time and practice but what I mean is that you don't need much to get your feet wet and I'm really looking forward to trying this at some point, Lord willing of course.

Do you a video for the paint can forge? What insulation is the inside?

I don't have a video, but if you search coffee can forge you can find tons of videos. The insulation inside is plaster of Paris mixed with sand.
