Hello, in this video I show you how I made a barbecue knife with a train spring. The knife was handcrafted with a polished finish - mirror - and mottled handle, double spacer in brass and thin wood. Done by hand!! Ppl love when I make knives and they think I can just pump them out like nothing. One time I fired up the forge and threw a piece of truck leaf spring in. Handed my brother a 4.5 lb hammer and let him hammer some steel. He spent 20 min and his shoulder was hammered out. He looked at the spring and said, that doesn't look ugh different than when I started. I smirked and said, now you know 1% of what forging a bowie is like. I do everything by hand. That is a beautiful knife too!!

Yes yes, people don't know how much work this is to do, they think it's just a knock and it's done, but that's not how it works. It's a lot of work, but in the end it's worth it. Thanks. 👍👍👍

Your title drew me in. I have seen and have been friends with a number of blacksmiths over the years. This is the first time I have seen the ‘twisted tang’ used in the construction of any knife. I also am a Barbecue chef and judge and I can say unequivocally that I would be proud to own and showcase such a work of art. Thank you for a new piece of knowledge and enjoyment!

Anvil is all over the place. You should fix that. Alot of your energy is wasted with each blow of the hammer.. That said, The knife is beautiful! The handle looks like it really fills the hand solidly, and it is gorgeous. Nicely done!

I'm sure some in comments has already said it but if you take a torch lightly over purple heart it will turn a deep dark purple it really is beautiful once that's done. But great job nice design the profile flows nicely.

Да, любой хороший инструмент для работы приветствуется. Тем не менее, я слишком ленив, чтобы сделать его, и, поскольку я могу использовать тот, который у меня есть, мне все равно, когда тот, который я использую, испортится, я буду вынужден сделать лучший. 👍👍👍
