THANKS! This saved me $15 on buying a rake. The coarsest belt that I have is an 80-grit and I used that. An advantage that I found is that the 80-grit does not take off any of the material on the wheel. Then I put the belt back on the sander and used a stick of DuraGold to clean the belt running it in both directions. I restore and repair watches as a retirement hobby. Dank je wel, Needs. One can also clean a wheel with the top end of a file.

dont if the grit comes of the belt and embeds itself into the mop it will scratch your work like mad get a hold knife be careful press on with cutting edge get all the old polish out of your mop .you can do it the Neels Van den Berg way but be careful not to get grit stuck in the wheel

I can see the belt snagging and bringing your hands with it.
