The yarn used in this video: Patons Kroy Socks 50g/1.75 oz, 152m/166 yds, 75% wool/ 25% nylon, colour Flax/Lin. Cast on 200 stitches. Needle 2.5mm, gauge (washed): ~44-46 stitches x 40 rounds =10x10cm. This hat can be made with any yarn, however I recommend to choose the yarn that can produce a bouncy rib.

Just have found your question - it went to a strange folder - about intarsia vs stranded knitting for a logo. If it’s still relevant - I would probably do intarsia for an image kind of a logo and stranded for a text logo. Both work well especially with the fuzzy yarn, so you don’t see the other colours behind the work between the stitches. I would also consider embroidery - especially if the yarn is smooth - an imitation of the stranded knitting but embroidered. Could also be the easiest way. :)

@@irinarevoThank you for your reply! I wanted to make a text in front and still working on it ...I will try it with the stranded to see how it goes, haven't done it before and probably i will have to experiment! Also i would like to ask you if stranded works well on ribbing 1X1 or it has to be stockinet stitch?

@@nellat1244 I think stockinette is better for the text especially. However if the yarn is very fine and the letters are big the rib might work for a larger surface item like a scarf for example.

Hi Chris! I am very glad you like the pattern! Everyone has a different "hand". I knit snugly, so with a 2.5mm needle 200 was just right for me. At first it also felt too big (the first 10-15 rounds) but as the rib became bigger - closer to 20 cm - is felt much tighter. My gauge (washed): ~44-46 stitches x 40 rounds =10x10cm. Also, Kroy sock yarn varies in thickness: the striped ones are the thinnest, the solid coloured are medium and the marl are the thickest. There are several cast on diagrams in this video - hopefully you’ll find the one that is just right for you. :)

@@irinarevo thank you Irina!I appreciate your reply and advice! I will compare my gauge to yours and adjust. I might remove 16-32 stitches otherwise. Have a great day!

Hi Erina, Thank you for posting your beautiful hat pattern. Is there any actual written pattern I can download? Thanks again Anna

Hi Anna, I don’t have a written version, only as a video tutorial. I have a link under this video to that tutorial, where you can follow the step by step instructions to make it. There is also some additional information regarding the yarn size and stitch count on my Instagram page.

Hi Irina, I have already started a hat that has 112 st. Will it work to divide the stitches short section to 7 and long section 15? I’m a bit confused😵‍💫
@irinarevo
@irinarevo 8 ай бұрын
112 seems like you cast on too many stitches for the size of your sections: 7x4=28, 15x4=60, 60+28=88. If you want your sections to be 7sts and 15sts, you need to cast on 88 stitches. You can do 7sts and 19sts, then your total stitch count is 104sts. Or you can do 11sts and 15sts = 104sts, but your hat will be too pointy. I would choose 7 and 19. Or you can do 120 sts like I showed in the video, but if this is too many for your head size, I would just take a smaller needle size to make it work.

I love the hat, but not so much the very pointy top. How can o change this?
@irinarevo
@irinarevo Жыл бұрын
Thank you! You can try to reduce the # of stitches in the short sections and/or increase the # of stitches in the long sections (increments of 4 stitches per section).
