Go listen to "The Gospel" and tell me this isn't in keeping with their roots. literally cannot get enough of that noisy ass guitar tone. They went so raw for this single, and hopefully the full album. Everything sounds like the budget for the album was cut into a 3rd of what they had for the last album, and I LOVE IT. the guitar tone is so rattle-y and the snare ringing out like that is just perfection.

Distinctly remember when these lyrics were a proclamation for me. Raised religious, then was a devout atheist for many years. I only found out many years later how poorly religion and many that followed religion blindly represented the true nature of God. I thought they represented what "God" really was and thought what they were living out was what he actually called for. Many here will not be in the same place as me now, and I respect that. And I encourage everyone, do NOT follow blindly. Do NOT have a blind faith. Don't claim it, believe, or follow it simply due to your upbringing, your family, culture, or because it's what you're told is correct. It should be challenged. But I will also say that so many (likely most) of these "Christians", "Christ followers", religious people, or whatever else we call them SEVERELY misrepresent God and his actual heart and nature. I encourage anyone to not let these misrepresentations formulate your understanding or ideals on who God is or what he wants or desires for you. Seek to know him directly (or don't, though I hope you do), but don't follow blindly and also don't let peoples' terrible representations, misinterpretations, etc., be a determining factor on your own thoughts on him, whether good or bad. That's all. Take this or leave it. I'm not here to force anything whatsoever. I just know I hated Christians, hated religion, hated faith, and hated the idea of God, and now I deeply love God and Christ, but hate religion even more than ever, so I figured I'd share. Regardless of where you stand, what you believe, or what you don't believe, I love you and you're worthy of love. If any part of this comes across in any negative kind of way, I apologize in advance. I wish I could bottle up all my anger, inner turmoil, and depression and package it into something like this song. Such an outlet. Best band I've heard in ages. Made me a fan after hearing 3 songs. Did a deep dive, and we get this brilliance. Thank you so much Knocked Loose for giving me a purpose.

This band just fucking gets it. They’re dropping music all the time. Not like these other dumb ass metal bands who are dropping once every 24-36 months. Look at rappers and hip hop, new songs and singles all the time. Metal and hardcore bands need to start getting busy and putting out new music constantly like these guys do

@@shitdood I no longer rely on prayer and begging for help to deal with personal issues such as mental health or financial problems. I face life head on and changed my mindset after I realized that miracles simply don't happen. The only one that can save me is me and that no one else is there for me, especially not some inter dimensional imaginary being. After this realization I've become extremely content and generally happy for seeing what life truly is.

@@apples8872 The Bible says you should pray always in whatever you do and in whatever you do you must dedicate it to God. So, I was only following the instructions. I was the perfect Christian. I was the perfect child of God. But God was nowhere to be found after more than 20 years in the church and in person worship and devotion.

@@apples8872 Good for you bud. I made my decision and I'm good with it. Been in church all my life and I've learned a lot. My life actually became more peaceful after that. I don't have to rely on prayer, I don't have to beg some invisible king in the sky to do something for me, to help me. He never comes and he never came. I'm in charge of my life and I live it to the best of my ability. I see progress now other than when I used to be in the church with all the pastors, prophets, missions, praise and worship and prayers. I am much much happier now, believe me. Don't try to convice me to be like you, i found my happiness, finally.

@@TheRealThanos55i feel you man. I think having faith is a wonderful thing, but the way it was represented to me at least growing up, it was made out as an "end all be all" for issues in life. Never once did god ever show himself to me in hard times. I think the main issue with it all is that the church is so corrupted, and religion has become a trend, which is a far cry from what it is supposed to be. Regardless, these are some crazy relatable lyrics, they hit the nail on the head with this one
