Know What Causes us to Fail in Nymphing and Become a Great Nymph Fisherman

It really does not matter what style of nymphing you do, our failure to catch trout nymphing is the same for all styles of nymphing. By changing the way, you nymph to a new style will not guarantee you will be more successful. Learn what it is that makes us fail at catching trout nymphing, understand this failure and use this knowledge to make yourself a better fly fisherman.

I like your opinions I got hooked on the hype of social media I’ve dry fly on and off the last 30 years and euro nymphing looked to be a challenge you had 3 great options something to consider great video I fish the local areas of sierra and sequoia I enjoy the serenity and what God created I am 67 young how beautiful is that thank you for your 3 opinion 👍

I was raised fly fishing the Kern River as a boy. The Sierra’s was my playground. I too am 67 years young. I’ve written a couple of books where l mention my experiences FF the Kern River back then. Thank you for your kind comments. I’ve written a monthly newsletter since 2017 where my writing has taken a more philosophical and beauty approach to fly fishing. I write and teach about the core principles of FF passed down by old mentors who are now dead. These concepts are widely practiced by exceptional and master fly fishermen but not mentioned much on KZfaq. Tight lines to you.

I totally agree with you. As long as one puts the nymph fly on trout's plate and if it is hungry, it will take it. So many people are putting too much emphasis on the presentation, i.e. drag, dead drift, whether the fly is on a single lane, etc. My experience is exactly like yours. Just put the fly on the face of the fish and hope that they are hungry.

Fly fishing is a simple sport, however I did not say it easy. There is a huge body of fly fishing, let’s be polite and say the commercial end of it that would disagree. Great minds think alike. Thanks for the comment.
