My dad called me up the other day while in the Goodwill store near his home about a really old camera. He told me it was some kind of box made by Kodak. I thought he was talking about a brownie but no it was a Duaflex III. While still on the phone I googled it and it looked like TLR. He said the price was $6 (usd). I said to buy it!, it would look good on the shelf. Now that I discovered that the shutter still works and found your extremely helpful video, I'm happy we bought the thing. My dad was skeptical even with cheap price! Thanks and keep making more interesting vintage camera reviews.

Believe it or not you can actually fit 35mm film in this. The only problem us you have to cover the red window with tape (because this film doesn't have the paper back like 620) and you have no idea how much you advanced the film ( I just count the turns). The good thing about this is that its more convenient as 35mm film is easier to come by.

I've got a DuaFlex II sitting around here somewhere. It belonged to my great uncle. I can remember my dad using it when I was a kid. He had that and an old German Mercury camera.

The advance lever only rotates one way, if it wound the film backwards, that would be your fault not the cameras, that being said, the kodar lens was hundreds of times better than the kodak lens, and it was a cheap camera for average people. My grandfather bought one new in 1954, As a retired Army Captain, it was the first camera he could afford. I still use it today, it still takes really good photographs.

I used mine right until I couldn't get 620 from the drug-store anymore (early 1990s?). It's relaxing to carry a camera that has little value should something bad happen to it.

picked up the kodak Duaflex 2 a while back for about 20 bucks, did some research after and realized i overpaid. still a great little camera to mess with. i managed to fit 120 spools into the bottom portion of the roll i just take a nail clipper and cut off the edges of the film and squeeze it into the clap. but the 620 spool needs to be on top (the empty side) real big fan of your videos!! keep them coming! Does it not use batteries? How does the flash work? I bought one today just cause it looked cool. Now I want to dress up in old clothes from goodwill and take some 1950s pictures.

Hello let me say that I have a 1954 duaflex 3 it has great glass lens I took mine totally apart to clean the dust and dirt out now it looks new I got it for $5.00 great pics thanks for your video

Cool pics. Honestly the quality isn't so bad with the medium format. At least not as bad as my piece-of-crap 35mm plastic point and shoot. Ugh haven't shot film in so many months. I need to get back on a roll (pun intended).

I didn't realize how old this video was. I just got mine [the UK version of the first model of the Duaflex series] from an antique show and paid.....get this....$23. What?! Because I never heard of it before, I had no idea it was worth no more than $10. Oops. Oh well. You live and learn, I guess.
