This image processor was dead on arrival but the deal was too good to pass up. Can I make it work?

My favorite part is the TC-1 tester. I think its an amazing quick and dirty tool. Testing for failed parts or ball park numbers.

0:19 I guess we'll call it "eBay Math". I approve. 😂 Good point on that cable though, seriously. I wouldn't bother making something like that by hand.

The "solder blob" on the tant is a sign that it's failed. Normally solder does not stick to the epoxy dip on the tants. But if it comes from the inside, poking trough the paint, yep!

It was fun while the cartridge was still doing good but unfortunately those aren't as easy to get even rebuilt anymore.

Do you get the software version error without the imager connected? I don't believe there is software in the imager, so it's the remote control that is incompatible :/

I need to talk to someone else who has a Hi-Spec and a working remote so we can compare ROM versions and try swapping hardware to see what changes. This was not an expected result.

Ebay. I mentioned in a previous video that the Ektapro high-speed imagers often float under the radar for relatively cheap and so do the parts occasionally.

those are just filter and bypass caps... you don't really need them...
