Koenji is that one person that even Ayanokouji doesn't seem to be able to completely control. He's the wild card of the class, who's only loyal to himself. Also, the fact that he was able to deduce Ayanokouji's true nature from the mere force of the latter's grip shows that beneath his self-absorbed persona Koenji is incredibly intelligent person who is not to be underestimated.

I’m sure everyone’s figured this out already, but I love how it’s implied that both Koenji and Ayanokoji basically have the physical and mental abilities to be in Class A, but they just choose to do the bare minimum for the most part which is probably why they were delegated to Class D in the first place.

Unless the premise of the school is actually false. What if they intentionally put strong students in all classes. To see which would be able to get to the top. The Classroom of the elite is not for everyone in the academy, but for the few students that manages to become leaders of their respective classes. Suzune should be inteligent and athletic enough to have been put in higher than class D. The same is probably the case with Ichinose and Ryuen as well. The thing is if you put every single strong student in the same class, they could end up clashing so hard, because of their egos that the class would fall apart. Thus Class A would not become the best, but rather the worst. The actual goal of the school is to create a few student that are going to the top of society. The rest of the schools system will also create students that will be able to complete any university course, if they can pass that is. This is just a personal theory based on the anime.

Have seen thousands of episodes of anime, and this is one of the most badass. It's when you see Koenji's brute strength is married to preternatural perception. You'd also expect Ayanokoji (or at least your typical protagonist) to go wide-eyed, but he keeps it cool. This mix of nuance/subtlety and frankness/bluntness is just beautiful.

Honestly I don’t think Ayanokji isn’t intimidated by koenji or can loose to him. But rather he’s completely puzzled by Koenji seeing someone like Koenji who doesn’t seem to have a motive or anything to hide at all just going at life by his own rules and ideas, it’s what Ayanokoji wanted for himself is Freedom, and as we’ve seen so far Koenji is basically that embodiment of freedom.

12 eps will never be enough for 4 volumes but giving the worse volumes 2 eps and the actual good ones 4 is way better

I think koenji is strong and up there in the verse, but still falls short by a decent margin to ayanokoji in everything.
