The drummer is Kanade Sato, age 20. She was a child prodigy who started performing professionally at age 6, and is fantastically talented.

KOIAI is the same band formerly known as Li-sa-X Band, current band status: Vocalist Rina left the band and was replaced by Kotono, ex-Ironbunny (the name is funny but the band's music was serious).😎 Hazuki continues in the band.... Saki has never been a part of KOIAI or Li-Sa-X Band.😆 Virtuoso drummer Kanade Sato (21) joined the band.😊 Wakazaemon from East of Eden participates as a guest bassist in this gig.😮

You know about HAZUKI. The other guitarist, Li-saX, is 18 years old. In Japan, he was noticed by many people as a guitar prodigy from a very young age. KOTONO, the vocalist, was a dancer for BABYMETAL in 2018!

"KOI" represents a more emotional and temporary feeling of affection. It is often used in the context of first love or dating. "AI" represents a deeper and more lasting affection. It is often used to express a strong bond, such as in marriage or family. So while English has one word "love" to encompass these concepts, Japanese has two distinct words "KOI" and "AI" to better express the subtle differences in these emotional states. Top of the topest shelf players. Hazuki, Li-sa-X, Kanade, and even Wakazaemon from East of Eden on bass back there. Dream Theater, look behind you! If Hazuki is allowed to bring more of what she can actually do to Nemophila, maybe not the Prog-y stuff, but more the Metalcore stuff she likes, can't wait to hear it!

Love this song and band. Japan is just putting out great bands like crazy now and I love that to! Lisa-X and Hazuki (not Saki) started this band with singer Rena under the name Lisa-X Band. Then Rena had to leave and Lisa-X band became Koiai with this new singer Konoto.

Yes, that’s Li-Sa-X. Pronounced “coy-eye”. The drummer is the incomparable Kanade Sato. The singer is Kotono.I just discovered them a few days ago and I can’t stop listening. Virtuosity in all 4 members.

The slower parts seem to enhance the impact of what comes before and after them (making the epic parts hit harder), while they also add a refreshing change of pace. It’s very good.

Penny Black This is why I call Hazuki... "Penny Black": a variant of Nemophila Menziesii "baby blue eyes" flower with a distinct... KOIAI "dark indigo" color!

This! This right here! This is the direction this band need to move in! They play a lot of pop oriented stuff which is way less interesting. With this lineup, their pop stuff is the equivalent of owning a Formula 1 racecar and refusing to drive any faster than 25 mph on the track. We want to see these ladies smoke the tires and drift all of the curves. Because we know they can! I firmly believe they have more potential than any other band in Japan, currently. They need to make the move toward prog metal, drop the pop, and carefully pick a permanent bassist.

Man, if their overall sound could be anything like this, it'd be awesome! My 1st experience was "One Way or Another", and I came away feeling pretty meh. Don't get me wrong, good, straightforward rock (pop/rock?), and I like Kotono's voice, but not what I'm looking for. With such amazing musicians, the possibilities are endless!

about pronunciation: 0:26 is the most nearly to native japanese btw "koi-ai" is double meaning.(may B Lisa made that) 濃 koi(deep) 藍 ai(indigo blue) 恋 koi(romance) 愛 ai(love) yaeh...i know, japanese language is ....... from tokyo

The talent in this band is off the scale. Both Tim Henson of Polyphia, Marty Friedman (Megadeath among other things) and Kiko Loureiro (Megadeath a few years later) have ranked Li-Sa-X as one of the best metal guitarist in the world when she was like 13-14. Kanade Sato has been a professional drummer since she was 10-ish, playing mainly jazz and fusion. Hazuki is...well...Hazuki. They don't have have a set bassist but the once they use live are on the same level.

Is it possible to create a system that matches a Japanese girls band with a Western female vocalist like Poppy? A system like BabyMetal and Kami Band. If that were to become a reality, Western girls would pick up the guitar and eventually start bands.

(Koi - aee) I haven't seen the Kanji, so I think it means dark or navy blue, or deep love. They seem to be the titles of their 2 EP's. Btw, I hope Waka-san will be a permanent fixture. Coming from a Prog Jazz prospective, I see a great future with them spanning many genres with precision. More please!

Not Saki....Hazuki from Nemophila. It always cracks me up how she looks like a bad ass shredder in Nemophila but a kindergarten teacher any other time. And Lisa-X is phenomenal and has been for a decade and she's literally just now 20? Am I wrong?

According to Koiai’s documentary of their India tour, Lisa had just turned 18 in early 2023. Without researching I believe she is now 19, but I could be wrong.
